Just great. Love the stage banter . 13:33 Jerry, prior to DarkStar, "everybody can dance if you want to. That means you all can dance... No point in watching us. We don't do anything you don't normally do" What a trip to have been going to shows from 65' through 74'. I mean, what a fkn evolution over those 9-years. Yes, of course the other years are wonderful; but....... Anyway, loving these flashbacks to the late sixties.

If you feel like a show you didn’t choose, how about 5/10/80. I don’t think you’d be disappointed… (Busy day, catch up time now…)

Truckin' the song. Did Jerry say somewhere he did not think the song quite worked/was completed fully?
Looking for a few suggestions for shows from 1985. Not a year I've spent much time exploring. Seems like the summer tour is where it's at.
24 May 1970- Ted Askey's Lower Pig Farm, Lycett Morning Dark Star from the first foray to the Olde Sod.
Checkout Nassau Coliseum in the spring and Henry J. Kaiser in November. Also, 12-30-85 is one of the best shows of the 80s.
The above mentioned 6/30 and 7/1 Merriweather are definitely the place to start. The entire June-July run from the Greek through Ventura is one of the greatest tours they did in their last 2 decades. 11/1 & 2 Richmond, 11/7 & 8 Rochester, 11/10 & 11 Meadowlands, the November Kaiser run. 12/30 Oakland, 9/7 Red Rocks, 9/15 Chula Vista. The spring is full of goodies too…….3/25 Springfield, 3/28 Nassau, and the last 2 Spectrum shows 4/7 and 8 - Jerry’s voice is shot, but the music more than 200% makes up for it. 4/8 has one of their all time great 1st sets. There’s a few off nights here and there - 4/6 Spectrum, Boreal Ridge, middle night Red Rocks - but pretty much most any ‘85 show is a great listen.
Postimages.org is down but I did trip 1 (3/25/66) today. Super abbreviated. Lots of Pigpen organ. Now on Trip 2: 3/18/67. My son was born on this day 48 years later.
I did read, at one point, that Hunter originally intended to keep writing new verses for "Truckin'" to document the band's experience as time went on (e.g. "Keithy: our new keyboard guy / Donna: she sings by and by", I assume). That plan obviously got abandoned, but maybe that's what you were thinking of?
