You certainly mean 1965. There was only one last UK live performance on May 1st '66 at the NME Pollwinners Show, where unfortunately, for the first time in 3 years the Beatles performance was not recorded - my avatar pic is from that occasion.

 

I've thought about posting this picture a few times, but have always backed away thinking it might be in poor taste. I think it originated in People magazine. I have seen video of this moment, but the "still" shot best captures the eyes and wounded soul of a dear friend.

I beleive those shots are from a private party thrown for some of the cast of Help. IIRC they were shot in Austria.

 

Paul, Ringo, George Martin and Mary Hopkin at Abbey Rd.

 

The version I heard is that at least John & Paul went to a local restaurant one night and joined the band on stage.
Btw, filming took place in Obertauern, Austria from Sunday, March 14 until Saturday, March 20, 1965.

 

Interesting... this photo is the cover shot on an, uh, "unofficially-released" live album that I have called "Live From The Sam Houston Colosseum," recorded 8/19/65 in Houston.

 

Audifon Records, loved that blueish cover. Kept it sealed and sold it on eBay many years ago.

The Avedon psychedelic images are my absolute favorites. I bought them on Carnaby St, in London in 68 and have them framed here in my home office still. I paid 10/6 for the set, $1.26 at the time. They represent for me the essence of the moment.

I do have a favorite "interpretation drawing" of them that I found on an internet site - IMHO, it's quite comical (but I'd probably get in trouble for posting it here).

 

after looking at all these Beatles pictures I REALLY hate Heather Mills.
