Rosie Vela  -- she's the beauty who stood and sang next to Jeff Lynne on the Zoom Tour Live. Certainly an angel to me!

Emerging soprano Anna Netrebko is easy on the eyes and her voice ain't too shabby either... Her "Russian Album" is quite good.

As a teenager I had a rather angelic picture of Sheena Easton in my room :shh: . Looking a bit more worldly here:

Kinda has a similar look as Gigi Edgley goin' there. Cute! :D

If one were to start a thread titled, say, "Great artist - who cares what they look like!" I might submit a few folks who, while I happen to think are actually attractive people, I'm aware are not conventionally thought to be: Ella Fitzgerald (isn't she a cute person though?), Keely Smith (don't dig sultry?), and Eddi Reader (your more "average" looks but nothing wrong with that). All are great singers who I'd rather listen to any time over any less talented "beauties." It does bug me that we are undoubtedly missing many of our greatest artists right now on account of a media preoccupation with conventional looks that at best chooses the best talents out of a pool of models.

I'm sorry if I'm being a killjoy. To not be too much of a "damp rag" and contribute, here are a few vintage ladies who possessed both lovely voices and looks in the conventional senses:

The elegant Peggy Lee, whom I think has been mentioned:

    peggy_lee.jpg

Jo Stafford, pure-voiced first-rate singer whose recent passing was discussed a bit on the forums:

Band singer Martha Tilton, who being more obscure I'll post 3 pics of:

Yeah, she does have a nice voice/pretty face:love: but it seems like it is going thru a Ring Modulator (her vocals) which makes it sound cool. The only album I heard by them is the first one "First Band on the Moon". I was working at a record store at that time. They did some Black Sabbath covers as well which were weird! They have a unique sound! Kind of a space/lounge feel to it. It sold really well. Now they are in the pawn shops up here just like a lot of other bands who make it big for a short time.:shake:

I agree with many of these choices including Amy Grant, Elvis Presley, Karen Carpenter in her prime, Stevie Nicks, Norah Jones, Kay Starr, Patti Page (who is still fine looking at her age), Emmylou Harris, Sarah Brightman, Aretha, Barbara Lewis , Carla Thomas, Randy Travis, Ella Fitzgerald, Dionne Warwick, Alison Krauss, Marianne Faithfull in the 1960s, Shirley Jones, Julie London, Olivia Newton-John, Linda Ronstadt, Ethel Merman (early on), Melanie Safka, Dolly, Grace Slick, Ronnie Spector, Agnetha Faltskog, Yvonne Elliman, and more. I'll add Juice Newton, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and many others to the mix down the road.
