I think this one will reach easily the $2,500.00 USD.

My guess is why he/she is so sure that the CD has the golden face on CD? I think it would be hard to see it through the sealed wrap isn't it?

$761 dollars now with just under 9 days still left to run!
I guess I could sell my car...

As (one of) the self-appointed 35DP experts on this board, I can tell you that it is very easy to identify a gold face disc on a sealed disc. You take a flashlight and shine it through the case from the top (the space between the booklet and the rear edge of the case). Look at the edge of the disc visible from the bottom of the case - if it's white, its a silver face, if it's yellow, it's a gold. It helps to have a regular CD (any CD) to compare as you do this.

Ask the seller to do this, and he can be certain

You're right. I checked each of mine (it wouldn't have occurred to me otherwise!), and the gold one has a yellowish tint, the silver is whitish.

Up to $1000 USD, I'm thinking it will end at over $2K.

What if Bill Gates and Mark Cuban are Floyd fans, and have snipe bets waiting? I'm staying clear of this one.

Looks like five different bidders have all bid $1,000?

What's the most expensive regular release stock CD ever sold? Not one that was recalled, or unreleased promo, or error, or something.

I reckon this will push $3,000.

Anyone here bidding on it for fun?

Suspect this will go to a seriously wealthy floyd collector.

I remember an ultra rare Metallica - Kill 'Em All on Roadrunner Records that went over $1000. I mean so rare that most people didn't even know it existed.

Oh well thanks, so this IS the one to collect right? As always the question still in the air: leave sealed the CD or not.....

Christian, so that's your strategy. Got it. ;)

This strategy can have another effect.

Since we know he has bid quite a bit higher, I can safely place a bid without danger that I will have to buy the item. In other words I can make shure he pays his maximum bid

No. It's like Elvis' jacket. If you bought it, you wouldn't wear it.

True, that is why sniping rules. Pick a price and be prepared to pay that amount.

Well, he did say he reserved the right to pull it anytime,
    guess he exercised that option.

    Ebay removed it

    "Dear crispynz1 ([email protected]),

Thanks for bidding on the auction-style listing:

270332872924 - PINK FLOYD Japan CD 35DP 4 Wish You Were Here SEALED !!

Unfortunately, we had to remove this listing and cancel all bids. We don't like to remove listings -- it's disappointing for everyone -- but sometimes we need to do it.

There are three main reasons why we remove listings:
-- The listing doesn't follow eBay guidelines.
-- The item isn't allowed on eBay or can only be listed under certain conditions.
-- The listing contains pictures or words that may create copyright or trademark issues.

If the seller is able to fix the problem and relists the item, we hope you'll bid on it again.

Sometimes, instead of relisting an item, a seller will suggest that you buy it directly from him or her, off eBay. If that happens, please don't accept. If anything goes wrong with the purchase, we won't be able to help you.

-- If you have questions --
Due to concerns about member privacy, we can't share any details about why the listing was removed, but we'd be glad to answer any other questions you might have. Here's the best way to contact us:
    1. Click "Help" at the top of most eBay pages. You may need to sign in.
    2. Click "Contact Us."
You'll be asked to describe what's going on, and we'll suggest the best way to get in touch.

We're really sorry about the inconvenience.

    Sincerely,

    eBay Trust and Safety team

Ah, so eBay pulled the listing, not the Seller. Interesting, thanks Christian.

Can anyone think of a reason why they'd pull it?

The wording and description seemed fine to me. The only question I had was the description of the CD as "gold" when its sealed, but it's possible to tell from the edge.
