    Hello all,

Just read an interview with Ian Anderson in the (UK) Record Collector magazine and apparently there will a new 2CD release of 'Stand Up' in April......in the UK at least.

No idea whats on it but a remix is likely and contemporary singles along with the remaining 4 BBC sessions. Also possibly the Living In The Past Top Of The Pops (BBC TV) appearance soundtrack.

Will try to find more info....

That would be great! I would be happy to buy a Stand Up Deluxe edition if the quality is the same as the previous one. I really liked the remix of This Was.

I have the MFSL & the one with bonus tracks but I'd still be interested in what this one might offer.

    Thank you, Don

I've passed on your message to two Tull boards.

:righton: Good news. I don't know if Stand Up really needs to be remixed but Benefit and Aqualung would definitely benefit from remixing IMO.

I hope that all the multitracks still exist!

Me too. I thought it was strange that the 25th Anniversary box set's remixes had nothing from Benefit or Stand Up.

I love the MFSL...but perhaps Ian should pull a Fripp and put out a needledrop of the original UK LP...now that is the ultimate edition of that LP...best I have ever heard!

Great news. Stand Up is getting a re-release on the 40th anniversary of Benefit.
If it's to the standards of the 40th anniversary edition of This Was, I am eager to have it.

Department of rumours: 2CD release of 'Stand Up' Ohhhh, the second disc is Benefit.

On the 40th anniversary of Benefit. Ian's as confusing as Neil Young.

Spoke with Glenn Cornick via e-mail and he had not heard anything about it. EMI obviously haven't invited him to contribute this time. A shame as a few words from each of the band members in the booklet of the anniversary release of This Was was a nice touch.
Still no word on any of the details yet....

FWIW, a friend told me he heard from someone in the UK that it should be out (UK first?) in the May-July timeframe. the second disc will contain all applicable BBC stuff, all the singles from that time (Witch's Promise, Sweet Dream, Living in the Past) with the b sides, in mono and stereo (!!!!) and tack on some stuff recorded at that time, like Singing All Day.
    No unreleased songs.
I'm sticking with my Mofi until I can get this in hand and compare............

Witch's Promise would be tied to Benefit, not Stand Up.

It would be great if they do what King Crimson has done. 24/96 Stereo and 24/96 Surround discs for all of their titles.

This is why I have acquired as much of the original vinyl as I can. The remastered stuff is brutal.

Luckily for some of us, we have the Stand UP MFSL to fall back on, so the vinyl isn't a must on this one. :D
The bonus material will be key for me

I hope it doesn't have that digital echo mix used for the 25 years box.
