Hmmm... I thought Gillian was truly brilliant as the host of last year's Jane Austen PBS series.

    Ah Gillian, she's endlessly fascinating!

Seems like Gill has been neglected as of late....
    ;)

She's still one of Britian's most beautiful natural resources!

Totally off topic, but I think Graham Norton, for all his patented silliness, actually provokes some of the most interesting and honest responses from his guests (Anderson is no exception).

Mmmm....Gillian has such a way with words, the way she said the word "pneumatic" in her voiceover on the HAL single "Extremis"....mmmm

In my travels in the service, I found I adopted the "local vernacular" and it's accompanying "dialect". I spent four years in the UK, and while I never had the accent while there, I DID find myself sliding towards it when I spoke with my british friends on the phone!

That being said, if I were speaking to someone who wasn't hip to the regional accents in the UK, I'm absolutely certain I could put them on that I was indeed a brit - it's a mish-mash, but to someone who's never been to the UK or has no experience as to that kind of thing, they'd never know the difference.

She's great. She's probably 70% why I watched the X-Files. It's great to see an actress be so hot without being such a hussy.

I saw her in a play here in London, was very worried I mght shout something out ( e.g Marry Me ! ) when she came on stage, but the meds were working that day...

She spent her teenage years in London , so that is where the accent came from ,is it not ?

I just watched Gillian Anderson on Top Gear and she was speaking with a British accent....it seem so odd. For me at least. Still the same hotness though.

She spent her teenage years in western Michigan. She lived in the UK for most of her childhood until she was 11 years old, though. People who learn foreign languages before puberty can usually speak without an accent. I think regional dialects work like that, too, which is probably why she can slip between the accents without concentrating on it as much as most actors.
