HUGE NY fan but cannot think of the last release that I actually enjoyed. So looking forward to this one.

That'll happen. The guy has dozens of albums.

"Fork in the Road" was better than I thought it would be.

I'm enjoying it right now. Some excellent Neil tunes along with some great sounding guitar recording (the best way I can describe it!)

I just finished my first listen. I am definitely a NY fan but I have not accepted all phases of the things he has done and find myself primarily listening to the early titles. However, I like this. There is something about it. The guitar is the thing here and there is, to my ears, a stronger vocal, a more present vocal, than anything in the recent past. Time will tell but I think I am going to enjoy this one.

  8. Excellent news! Looking forward to hearing it.

    Thanks

I just finished with listening to the NPR stream, I like this one a lot at first listen.
I would very much like to have a vinyl copy of this, but there seems to be a
big disconnect in the pricing structure of this one. Amazon has the cd for 11.88
and the vinyl for 35.13, since when is the vinyl worth three times as much
    for the same music:confused:

I'm really pleased to hear this. SLEEPS WITH ANGELS is easily my favorite Neil Young album in the past 20 years.

Yes of course, but with links to lots of the reviews. It was a response to this:

Here is the link again. Judge for yourself if the reviews have been favourable or not:

Yeah duh. Thrashers Wheat is a long established Neil Young fan web site, so what's your point?
What negative reviews have you read, please post some links.
Member TONEPUB posted a glowing review.
I'm not saying Le Noise is good, bad or ugly just trying to establish whether your nebulous post is bull***** or nonsense.
    I say yes.

I'll wait to hear it with my own ears.

I've bought every record he's ever made anyway. ;)

Even with small speakers, Lanois recordings can really make the low end rumble. Does he use a moog pedal?

I want LE NOISE to be good. I love NY most of the time. The reviews I'd seen had been middling at best. I have not heard the album yet, but I will when it's released.

    My critique?
    Too short.

I think it's a perfect length. If it went on for an hour or so, it might get tedious.

38 minutes is perfect to listen to in one sitting IMO.

I would love to hear these guys do a full band album next....maybe even with Crazy Horse.

Dan & Neil seem very tight now. I wish they started making records together earlier.

Go back a few pages on this thread, to where people who "got" it early or who were reviewing it based off of the samples or the streams on NPR, etc. It was getting terrible reviews.
