Yes. Woodstock - Music From The Original Soundtrack And More - Atlantic SD 500-2 2 CD set made in the U.S.A. "CD mastering by Barry Diament, Atlantic Studios" is at the end of the credits in the insert.
If you're collecting the catnumbers of inserts which indicate Barry Diament as master engineer, I have some others: Robert Palmer - 'Riptide' 90471-2 (Island 1985 - made in Japan by Sanyo) U2 - 'October' 90092-2 (Island - made in Japan, in digipack!)
Yes - Classic Yes/ CD mastering by BD, Atlantic Studios/19320-2 Bad Company – 10 From 6/CD mastering by BD, Atlantic Studios/81625-2
Is there any classical CD which was already identified as his mastering? Warner owns the right of many great sounding Aubort/Nickrenz recordings.
I have the Music from the OST and more Woodstock that was made in West Germany on Atlantic 0 7567-80593-2 2.. The matrix is IFPI L012 756780593-2/1.2 09/99. What's confusing is that the insert states that it was mastered by Barry Diament, but the back states that it was remastered at Oceanview Studios, CA by Joe Gastwirt. My guess is that it's by Gastwirt and they used the old insert. Can anyone confirm and/or clarify.
The matrix doesn't look like something from the 80's. It is the remaster and they've used the old insert.
Hi E.Baba, I'm not so sure about "Let There Be Rock". It's possible. But I don't recall that one. Best regards, Barry www.soundkeeperrecordings.com www.barrydiamentaudio.com
Hi yasujiro, I wish I got to work on Aubort/Nickrenz projects but I did not have the good fortune to do so. I was fortunate in meeting Marc Aubort and talking audio with him though. We both had Dahlquist DQ-10 speakers at the time too. I did do some classical work for Mode Records - a project with the Arditti String Quartet and a good number for Second Hearing Records, such as piano works by Anthony Newman and several other projects. Last year, I recorded a solo classical guitar project for Soundkeeper but was not happy enough with the performances to release it. Best regards, Barry www.soundkeeperrecordings.com www.barrydiamentaudio.com
Thank you for the reply, Barry. It's regretful that you were not involved with the Aubort/Nickrenz tapes.
Mmm ,......... thanks. Am i right in thinking this would have come in the old 2CD Fatboy box ? and would be the only version that did come in the Fatbox even if it's a BMG music club edition ?
I have recently "downgraded" to many of these versions of these titles, and they sound fantastic! Thanks for your effort back in the day.
Re: Woodstock Mine came in a fatbox, yes but... it's not a BMG (or other) record club version. Says made by Atlantic SD 500-2 on the spines. Discs nos. are SD 500-2-1 and SD 500-2-2. This came out so long ago I believe they all were likely in a fatbox. The only thing I don't like about my copy is that there really is no cover art - each side of the fatbox has song credits for each disc. The color insert inside actually has the cover art. And Barry's credit is inside the insert credits (no mention of him on the outside inserts). Hope this helps.
Re : Woodstock Says made by Warner Pioneer Corporation on the spines. Disc nos. are 55XD-626 and 55XD-627. Full Cover Art Barry's name on pg. 3 of foldout insert.

Quick question, I just got a Japanese Atlantic pressings of The Yes Album and just wanted to be sure it's the same as the US Diament mastering. It doesn't mention Barry like my German Close To The Edge does. Could someone post the EAC values for the US pressings?
Sorry to interrupt: in that Barry Diament list I'm missing the possible mastering of one (or even two?) album of the Cult. In another thread which I read recently, Diament wrote that the Cult sounded very familiar to him. He didn't know, however, which album(s). Because of the year of the issue and the right 'Diament quality', some reacted that it could be only the US album 'Love'.
Hi Echo, If I had to guess, my guess would be "Electric". I believe it would have been soon after I left Atlantic and formed BDA, which was in 1987. Best regards, Barry www.soundkeeperrecordings.com www.barrydiamentaudio.com
Can anybody confirm whether these particular pressings of Highway to Hell and Back in Black are using the same mastering as the first atlantic issues or if they've been remastered? I'd like to know if they've got any dynamics left, or if they are more akin to later, more compressed versions. Highway to Hell cat. # 7567-81560-2 Back in Black cat. # 7567-81472-2
What about The Eagles "On The Border", "One Of These Nights" and "Hotel California"? I thought he did all of the original Eagles discs but perhaps I am mistaken. If so, who did the above mentioned titles if Diament only did S/T, Desparado, and The Long Run?
I just got an old Under a Blood Red Sky by U2 that has a credit for Barry. Didn't know that. Has Barry done other U2? I saw something somewhere that he might have done some of the early CDs?
