It is a real gem both sonically and musically. Also Previn's EMI disc are superb.

Have you already seen this? Looks like he has been watching DVDs of some of our favorite conductors.:) There is some editing, but it is still fun. Watch for the nose twitch-itch.:D

    New release on BSO classics

Plain Song, Fantastic Dances: Chamber Music By American Composers by Boston Symphony Chamber Players

This new recording (package design by yours truly) features the music of Lukas Foss, Michael Gandolfi, William Bolcom, and Osvaldo Golijov. 3 of the 4 pieces are world premiere recordings. It is superb. I listened to the stereo layer last night and was totally involved with the music from start to finish. Engineering, mixing and mastering was done by sound/mirror.

You can buy the Hybrid SACD stereo here: http://www.bso.org/bso/shop/productD...d=bcat12170002 Keep supporting the format. This is one to get!

You can download it digitally (WMA stereo or surround, mp3, aiff formats) here: http://www.bso.org/bso/shop/audioDet...d=bcat13360032

Here are some other places you can get the download.

The Boston Symphony Chamber Players is of the world’s most distinguished chamber music ensembles sponsored by a major symphony orchestra and is made up of the BSO's principal players. Thank you SH Forum.

May I suggest this magnificent complete set conducted by a first rate Soviet/Russian conductor Kitajenko who, for whatever reason, seems to be rather underrated in the West.

Uniformly excellent playing and understanding of the music, gorgeous sound (it varies a bit because some symphonies recorded live but no coughs here), and you can hardly beat the whole thing at this price.

No, no too much (though you can get it new for that price on Amazon, plus shipping) - but if in good shape, used is just as good. The majority of those Philips 2-fers are a bargain and well worth five bucks a disc.

Has anyone ordered anything from the UK over this past month? I finally lost an order from MDT and have to request a replacement after it fails to show up a month after it was shipped. 3 orders from Presto Classical that were shipped on 1/4 and 1/5 also have yet to arrive. :shake:

I heard the next one that is expected to hit the NY metro area next Tuesday could be a monster snowstorm - potentially another blizzard ... :righton:
