Mozart Symphony Jupiter on period instruments ? My favorite is Immerseel (Anima Eterna) on ZigZag....

I was referring to the one on DG with Wislocki, Warsaw Philharmonic (25 - 26 April 1959)

I also love Moravec, Haskil, R Serkin and Casadesus's recordings of the Mozart concertos.

I hope Tchaikovsky 6th is an exception. T6 is so dark and can be out right depressing to many ... :shake:

Now playing this CD, which just arrived today from an Amazon US MP vendor. I am continuing to shy away from non-US based etailers for now given my recent lousy experience ...

The very young Ashkenazy performed Piano Concerto No. 2 splendidly. With performance like this plus excellent sound at 24/96, who needs Bang Bang? :righton:

Thanks to the mention of Bruckner symphonies I just listened to HvK's fine mid 60ies reading og Symphony 8.c-dur HAAS Rendition CD 116 from the box set and now Jochum's take on 4 and 9.
Like it mellow strings elegant flow...

Mine also but in the past year.
I never realized how much I like it over Opera!
Much of the Consort stuff is fun and whimsical music from the period.
Opera is kinda serious and drab also in a foreign language I can't understand.
All of the early Consortish music is in English I can understand..

Ok I got this today and it's VERY nice but I'm in the dark as to the history of the CD label.
Actually the origin of the CD period....my guess is it's direct from Germany.

Can someone here possibly have some info on this?

I am fine with early music sung in language other than English. I just prefer early music over opera and that has nothing to do with the language.
