Julianne Phillips also seemed to have retired on her pile of Springsteen divorce money.

JLC isn't retired. She just starred in "You Again" last year, and she was in 2008's "Beverly Hills Chihuahua".

She doesn't work a lot but she's clearly not "retired".

Dunno how much dough Chris Guest is earning - he's not exactly super-active himself. I suspect they both have earned enough across their years in the business to not need to earn much/any more!

I think she's probably making pretty good bread from those yogurt and the "50+ Woman" ads. $$$$

Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, and Gene Hackman have all retired.
Look at the movies Hollywood is making........no wonder these actors don't want to act.

IMDB states that KR is currently in three movies either in post-production or currently being made, so he's clearly not retired.

The two GHs do appear to be done with Hollywood, though - Hawn hasn't done anything since 2002, and Hackman's been idle since 2004...

She was in the Hurt Locker a couple of years ago and she also has a starring role in the Hobbit.

Natasha Kinski. I know she still does smaller roles, but boy when I was in high school in the early 80's she was it for me. Always thought she would of gone on to be a bigger star. Any fans?

How about Joe Pesci? Wasnt he basically blackballed because it got around he was difficult to work with?

I don't think so. Not everyone is (or wants to be) Michael Caine. ;)

Jamie Lee Curtis has (co)written quite a number of children's books, and does the occasional article on Huffington Post.

I'd imagine Cutthroat Island killed the trajectory of a few folks in Hollywood...

He had a nice cameo in The Good Shepherd. Probably my favorite part of the film.

Hackman explicitly said that he retired after Welcome to Mooseport. Given the fact that he did that and Heartbreakers prior to his retirement, I can see how he would start to doubt his judgment. At least he turned in The Royal Tannenbaums (among others) before he called it quits.

And she does those yogurt commercials.

She's in one of my all time favorite bad movies- "Virus".

I remember reading a review about 10 years ago of Herbie Fully Loaded that said something akin to, "and Michael Keaton...he just wants to work." I wonder if starring in a less than successful run of films post-Batman dimmed his desirability as a box-office draw (Speechless, Multiplicity, Jack Frost). He directed an indie that he also starred in not too long ago.

Judd has done some low-key supporting roles in the last few years. He had one of the bit parts in Jay and Silent Bob and was a nutty mobster in The Boondock Saints 2. Other than that, his role in Steel was arguably the beginning of his current career downslide.
