Myke Trying Not To Spook The Horse

I'm still intrigued by Steve's advice to take my speakers outside...just a lot of trouble in my apartment, with the patio door, etc. But I may, one of these days if curiosity gets the better of me.

Sorry Todd. That's a opinionated, mis-informed statement based on a highly nonfactual idea of how digital works.

I can hear the differences in mastering throughout the chain of equipment. With the synergy of components within reasonably built stereo equipment I believe everyone gets the differences in mastering, no matter the price point today.

Good opinion on Aqualung from my vantage point.

Fun thread here. All I can say right now after my first listen is...

Wow, there are three dudes in the band.

    More extensive notes later.

Wow, you really need to upgrade your system because there were actually four people in the band

This thread has really got me excited to hear my copy of CSN when I get back home this afternoon. I been in Denver the past few days for work and my copy is waiting at home for me . My wife said it was delivered on Saturday so I can't wait to hear it! I am anxious to see how the Gary Wright disc sounds too!

A Steve Wilson remix of Deja vu would be at the top of my Christmas list. Looking forward to the AF CSN though.

Yeah, I wonder why the pitchEd this worldwide campaign for the Beatles remasters when 49,999/50,000 people aren't going be able to hear the difference anyway. In a perfect world, a remaster should be so stunningly better that EVERYONE will go, "Wow!"

Oh, the horror of it all. I've just had my spelling corrected by a German english teacher. And not for the first time. Images of my old 7th grade english instructor, Herr Meyers, have come flooding back.

Still, I do stand corrected. Indeed, I meant role as opposed to roll.

Now, where is that "embarrassed" emoticon?

There's a lot of truth in that. I used to live in a 1895-built back-to-back house in Halifax, West Yorkshire. It had a massive attic room with a steeply sloping ceiling. In it I had a very cheap Philips all in one CD, cassette, tuner, amplifier and turntable with very cheap Philips speakers - all made in Belgium and costing something like £100 for the lot. The acoustics of the room were superb, and the sound of the system was remarkable!
