I am simply in awe. I've thanked each of you individually and given you your positive feedback, but I am just so impressed, I honestly think new members, and those thinking about buying vinyl here, should know publicly. Off the top of my head, I believe I've bought from 5 different sellers...ALL 5 have been beyond a positive experience. From the ridiculously low prices to the thoughtful packing, to the fast delivery, to the astonishing condition(?) of albums as old as 40 years ago !?!? 46 years of collecting vinyl, and no used store, or private seller has ever matched what you guys have done. Thank you very much.
My just-arrived today MFSL " Sticky Fingers " vinyl has just ended, and it is absolutely gorgeous. 39 years, and I somehow never owned my favorite Stones album on vinyl before. Again, to each of you that has sold me vinyl these last 3 months... thank you very, very much.
I've never sold to you before, but it's great to hear about your positive experiences with vinyl here. Vinyl can be a really tough buy over the Internet, as many of us know.
Yes I've had some great experiences buying vinyl on here also. Sometimes the shipping to Australia is a bit of a pain, but always more than made up for, by not yet getting a dud. Which is more than one can say of eBay.
Well, if ever this thread was needed it's NOW. Bought my FIRST vinyl ever from Amazon...because Boz Scaggs' 1st S/T was only $4.49 !?!?!? This ridiculously oversized box arrived, full of those clear, inflatable " pillows "...down at the very bottom of this box, sliding around loose, was my album !?!?! This will also be my LAST time buying vinyl from Amazon. I don't give a damn if they're giving them away for FREE.
I wouldn't be that upset then. $4.49's a (really) good price, and you can send anything back to Amazon that they drop the ball on, especially packaging. They solicit customers' ratings of their shipping procedures, even.
Like I said, read the other thread... http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=226307&highlight=
1 From John Lennonist 1 From Randy W. 7 From Rick (Klownschool) All shipped, and packed VERY conscientiously !!! Any new members wondering how these guys are at selling / grading / shipping that precious vinyl...pull that trigger, and TRUST these guys !!!!
Add the name of Timztunz to that list !!!! Just signed for 18 albums packed in a sturdy box, with styrofoam, and flats, within a second box, secured with Acoustic Sounds reinforced mover's tape ! And these are Gaw-Gis...most only played once, some still sealed !?!?!?
Listening to this pink label Capricorn of The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East, and even though Clay (Cassius) told me it was as quiet as if it were owned by nuns in a monastery (it is !), you're never quite ready to find what I found tonight...how I missed this the last 3 or 4 times I've pulled it out is beyond me...there's " extra vinyl " around the spindle hole on one of the records. A 39 year-old record !?!?!?!?...talk about taking care of an album properly...
New members / vinyl lovers...add the name of Action Pact to this list. 44 year-old Mono Buckinghams album...jacket, and vinyl absolutely beautiful !
Add dasacco to the list. 40 year-old Three Dog Night Golden Bisquits , just as clean and quiet as if it had been pressed yesterday.
America S/T, Wet Willie S/T, Wet Willie II, Drippin' Wet, & Keep On Smilin' from James ( Raunchroll)...sale was 3 days ago, and yet here they are in my Home !!!! All in better than described condition. Some sellers of vinyl just stand head and shoulders above all the others.
Like that Grand Funk S/T " Red Album," you got it from James, then I got it from you, and it still looks and sounds as if 1969 were last week !?!?!?!?
And if any of us ever started to take one of these exemplary sellers for granted... I submit to you, the Anti-Vinyl Seller : A vinyl buyer's worst nightmare... (from this thread : http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=256445 )
In 5.5 hours today, I have been met with not one, but TWO examples of the kind of member-sellers we have here in the SH Classifieds. Honesty. It's such a lonely word, everyone is so untrue. So when I have conversations by PM about "you don't need this Mike, you already have the best version," or " this is only if you're into collecting the sleeve variations...there will be NO difference in SQ." How many "out there" would take our last dollar, not caring if we were fully understanding what it is we're buying ? This is one Helluva forum.
