    I love the Xanadu movie.

Robert Plant's solo stuff from this period is much better than the Firm. I'm just saying for $5, it's worth picking up just for the hit "Radioactive." Would I pay $10 for it? Probably not.

By the way, I've been seeing several of Plant's albums in the bargain bins.

+1 I love ELO, but Xanadu is frickin' horrible. Actually saw a few minutes of it on cable a few months ago, and it hasn't gotten better with age.

Saw The Doobie Brothers' World Gone Crazy CD/DVD combo in the $5 bin tonight - didn't get it though. Gonna preview it first....I love MOG.....

I picked this up a couple of years ago for the Lost connection -- believing that it might actually mean something.:sigh: Anyway, the version I bought came with the soundtrack CD, or at least part of it. Love the music.

So the soundtrack CD is a bonus inside the Xanadu DVD? I would pay $4 for that. Back to Wal-Mart I go.

Found at my local Walmart for $5.00....Rick James' remastered "Street Songs" and Weird Al's "Greatest Hits"

I'll look at it closely before I purchase. My guess is it won't include a CD, because it's only $4. Haven't had a chance to run by Walmart yet. I also want that Street Songs CD (that soundboy posted above). I didn't see it last time I was there. I hope my store will get that title.

I've seen Street Songs at several Best Buy locations as well.

The Magical Music Edition of the DVD contains the complete CD soundtrack that was released to stores. That was the last DVD version of the flick so it's a good chance it's that one.
One day they need to make a deluxe edition of the Xanadu soundtrack with the missing songs and the longer versions that are contained in the movie. I made my own homemade version years ago whittled together from various sources that I owned.

Thanks. I hope they have the Magical Music Edition. I'll look for it next time I go to Walmart (hopefully today or tomorrow) and report back to this thread if that's the version they are selling. You can't beat the price.

Do you have a link to what would be a deluxe edition of the CD -- missing songs, longer versions, etc.?

I was bored this afternoon and went through an entire $5 bin -- this took more than a half hour :) -- and found some titles I hadn't seen in the three other Walmarts within a 20-mile radius of me:

    Helmet, Meantime (great album, BTW)
The Scorpions, Love at First Sting
    Carly Simon, No Secrets
Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars
Bill Cosby, Why Is There Air?
    ZZ Top, Tejas and Degüello

That's the problem with those bins - you have to be patient!

  20. Joe Cocker-"With A Little Help From My Friends".
Great album, I like his take on Dave Mason's "Feelin' Alright" better than the Traffic original. And "Bye Bye Blackbird" has one of my favorite Jimmy Page guitar solos. Also a nice version of Dylan's "I Shall Be Released", with Steve Winwood on organ. That's worth a fin.

I may pick up Love at First Sting. How is the album? I've never heard it besides the hit(s).

Could anybody let me know which versions of the ZZ Top cd's are in the cd bins at Walmart? Are they original mixes or the 6 pack remixes?

ZZ Top Rio Grande Mud - remix?
ZZ Top Deguello - original mix?
ZZ Top El Loco - original mix?
    ZZ Top Tejas - remix?

I was listening to the Tejas mp3 download samples on Amazon and they don't sound all echoey or with sampled drums. It has a 2012 release date.

    Thanks.

Oh, I forgot about two more I saw in the Walmart $5 bin for the first time:

    - Janet Jackson, Rhythm Nation 1814
    - Bobby Brown, Don't Be Cruel

Both are really great late 80s R&B albums, IMO. Kinda wish I had scooped them up.

  24. I'm not a ZZ Top connoisseur, but did pick up Deguello from Walmart. It is this version:

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/20554105?sourceid=1500000000000003260400&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=20554105

It is a straight reissue of the original 1990 Warner CD.
