    Always heard "Outlaw Blues" as a throwaway attempt to make a Johnny Rivers-style record, not much more.

    Check out QotSA's cover version if you like that falling-down-the-staircase vibe from the original and want to hear a modern band tackling it effortlessly.

    like "4th Time Around" is "not much more" than a "Norwegian Wood" parody? ...

    what is the Johnny Rivers style? I don't know anything about him, but based on this Dylan track, like the OP I would like to hear more!

    Actually, the song's structure/arrangement is closer to "Hi-Heel Sneakers".

    Eh, it's probably the least notable song on the album. I don't think it's really "punk before '76". Still good though.
