    Mine arrived overnight !?!?! They got their facts wrong about the Skynyrd plane crash though. In the Street Survivors Silver Series vinyl, they've got Allen dying instead of Steve Gaines. Allen stayed around until 1990, when he passed from complications of pnuemonia.

    The Band S/T! I'm in for that! Can't find a good RL to save my life!

    I have had it for a week or two (#169). Ray's voice sounds very good, the band not so much---sound quality wise. The band sounds very cluttered behind Ray's voice (example "Alexander's Ragtime Band), the trumpets sound as if they were clipping the mic. And I am a HUGE Count Basie fan (I use the Mosaic Complete Roulette Studio Recordings as a measuring stick), so I know it's not a musical problem. I am trusting we are hearing the sound as it is on the master tape (were some of the tracks in bad shape?). The session without the Basie band (and a few Ellingtonians) is in better sound. Overall, I am glad I purchased the MoFi release, and I appreciate the recording session and the musical pleasure and enthusiasm that is clearly evident. I am sure Rob LoVerde did his absolute best on this.

    Me too but if they ever get it out the door.

    It was announced last year.

    I hope you're a very patient man. :laugh:

    No it wasn't and what on earth are you talking about?

    I am excited beyond belief for the following titles:

    * Weezer - "Pinkerton"
    * Weezer - "Green Album"
    * Weezer - "Make Believe" (well, sorta)
    * Ryan Adams - "Love Is Hell"
    * The Pixies - "Trompe Le Monde"
    * Bob Dylan - "Greatest Hits"
    * Bob Dylan - "Desire"
    * Bob Dylan - "Nashville Skyline"
    * Bob Dylan - "Before the Flood"
    * Elvis Costello - "The King of America"
    * Elvis Costello - "Punch The Clock"
    * Judas Priest - "Killing Machine"
    * Judas Priest - "Screaming For Vengeance"
    * Judas Priest - "Stained Glass"
    * Tom Waits & Crystal Gayle - "One From The Heart"
    * and maybe somes of the 6 new Sinatra titles

    Oh happy year...or years...probably 2014 as well.

    Mofi couldn't locate the Stereo tapes, so they released the Mono version. The music is good, the sound is a better bootleg!

    The Audio Fidelity gold CD is great, but there is always the possibility of an SACD being better. Of course, we'll have to see about the mastering.

    I'm hoping that MFSL will continue to handle the vinyl releases of the R.E.M. 25th anniversary editions as they come out one by one. The next one due up is Green, although, of course, that was on a different record label than Lifes Rich Pageant and Document, both of which MFSL have released. Will MFSL get the rights to do the Warners-era R.E.M. albums? I hope so.

    I'll be excited if they spread this one out over two LPs. Otherwise, no.

    High hopes for Desire as the current SACD is not brilliant, not bad but not on the same plane as Oh Mercy. If MOFI's sounds the same then it's likely limitations in the source material and the way it was recorded I'm presuming?

    When will the Silver Series come out? Looking forward to Love is Hell but "Floodland" by Sisters of Mercy and "Business As Usual" by Men At Work have been on the list for ages and are still no shows without an ETA.

  15. Weezer's "Make Believe" but no "Maladroit"... Gah.

    Although I am very excited about the "Pinkerton" and "Green Album" releases! Hopefully "Maladroit" will find a legit release some day. It's a very underrated album.

    Good to hear about "Love is Hell" as well.

    MOFI has done well releasing the newer artists. I enjoy diversity and love their prior Weezer, Beck, and Faith No More releases.

    MoFi seems utterly abandon the idea of issuing (post be-bop) Jazz and classical titles save for Miles.

    So they show Kiko as "also available", yet still not on web site. Also show The Band S/T as a silver series LP.

    I'm also interested in hearing what they can do with the first album and Brother's and Sisters...especially the latter, which has a MOFI release already that isn't great. Steve mastered Ramblin' Man for one of his compilations and it sounds great, so I'm hoping this time around MFSL will nail it.

    The Doobie Brothers/Stampede disk I'll definitely be getting. The Allman Brothers titles look interesting too.

    Music Direct is beginning to list some of the catalog releases on its website - so we can see what will be vinyl/SACD. Interesting that one of the Doobie releases - Stampede - will put out on vinyl, all previous Doobie titles have been SACD.
    Also interesting is the listing of the Ryan Adams as a 3-LP boxset:
    http://www.musicdirect.com/p-110678...ell-numbered-limited-edition-3lp-box-set.aspx

    ABB self-titled vinyl is still scheduled for December - Merry Christmas!
