So I took a chance on this album for $2 in fairly decent condition. based on the artwork I was expecting a soulful 70's porn funk something. what I got was a Motown signing group like the Temptations. the music sounds like its from the 70's, and to be honest, it isn't that bad, but the cover doesn't seem to fit a group that has been around since 1954 according to wikipedia.

Not just the cover, but the album name, too.

That is one funked up cover! I would have definitely taken a chance on that too.

I always thought Let It Bleed had the wrong kid of cover for the music inside. It's a good cover but it doesn't fit.

Based on the cover alone, I would never listen to this.

Guaranteed Food Poisoning would better match the music!

All of ELO's music do not match their album covers with the exception of their first.

Oh no, I respectfully disagree. Everything up through OotB is perfect. Especially OotB and Face the Music.

Never thought their painting-turned-album-cover quite matched up with the music inside....

After a brilliant and fitting debut cover, Sabbath's "Paranoid" cover was a no-fit...

I never thought Nantucket's album covers conveyed the type of music inside. In fact I might say it was one reason they weren't more successful.

A case of the artwork AND album title not matching the music. Of course, that was their intention.

  20. I am torn on this one
I think it was carrying on the western motif
For San Fran psych established by the Charlatans
Which would have been known by members of the scene:the artist, musicians, fans, etc.,

at the end of the day, if I saw that in a used bin and got it home I wouldn't have expected psychedelic rock if that is what it is.

Really? It seems appropriate enough to me. If it was the cover of a Monkees album I'd agree that it doesn't fit, but it seems ok for the work of the Loafster.

Maybe you were expecting it to be a bit more heavy metal?

  25. True, maybe not The Electric Prunes, Tomorrow, Hendrix, etc.,
But it is consistent with essentially a west coast jam band type sound
Ala the Dead, Moby Grape, Bandersnatch, Seatrain, postGram Byrds, Kak, etc.,
