Martin plays the second flute! Sometime does live as well.

I was just joking, but does Martin actually play the other flute on the record or was it overdubbed?

Yes, I know you were joking but Martin does play the second flute.

    Thanks. I didn't know that!

  5. And Barre was also playing the flute live in the opening section of "Thick As A Brick", at least during the spring of '72 tour. First time I see Tull live ever, and who's playing the flute!...

Does £18.49 + shipping seem a bit pricey for this? I was expecting something in the £12.99-£14.99 range, but then I've already ordered the new Steven Wilson e.p. from Burning Shed this morning, so I may be getting belatedly cautious with my money. Still, I've got a feeling Amazon.co.uk will eventually beat this price. [edit: they haven't yet though! £18.89 but it's showing as an import]

Yeah, I've always been a little bit ambivalent about this album, but I'll be curious to give it another go with the remix. I'll also be interested to see exactly what they do with all of the bonus material from the "Chateaux D'Isaster" tapes. It should make for a cool alternate view into the period.

It's nice to support the smaller retailers like burning shed. I know it's nice to save a few pounds but I think it's important the smaller distributors are supported.
Burning shed are based in Norwich (where I live) and I suspect they pay their fair share of taxes!

Slightly idealistic but there you go!

A bit of idealism, in these ultra-cynical times, is quite welcome.

I agree, which is why I do sometimes buy from them, but the difference in price is usually something like 20% and it can be worse than that, so I'm rather sparing in the extent that I support them. It's easiest when the smaller labels cut some sort of exclusive item or edition for them that warrants paying a higher than usual price.

Hey, I'm not far from you (although nearer Ipswich). Never heard of "Burning Shed", do they have a store?

No it's not a store, more a unit but I pick up stuff up in person to avoid any issues with the postal service!

Norwich is typically the furthest away from any thing famous so I was surprised to see Burning Shed in our little old city!

I am not sure of the connection but I think burning shed is owned by Tim Bowness - his work is well worth a listen.

If you ever come this way feel free to five me a shout

Off topic, but I'd just like to say that I visited Norwich years ago and though I didn't stay long I thought it was a beautiful place. Loved the castle too. A local showed me around, nice people.

Not sure if that's a joke but $23 for 2CD's and a DVD seems like a steal to me.

  24. I have used the NZ branch quite a few times without any problems. When one order failed to turn up within the allotted time period they did give me a complete refund.
