Mine opens at 8AM instead of 10AM. People will be in line probably starting around 6AM. That's when I plan to be there.

I've got the Wipeout single cut by Kevin Gray in the early 80s on MCA, sounds great.

Mine usually doesn't but I'll be there early anyway with some coffee, donuts, and tunes for my fellow diehards.

Thanks. I don't why I bother, but I still like going to Best Buy early on Black Friday. Maybe I'll go there and then head to an independent store afterwards.

Wow, slim pickings this year. The only two I'm remotely interested in are the Flaming Lips (which I presume won't be terribly rare) and the VDP single.
I was under the impression Sundazed was going to release all three of Parks' early 45's. Is that not happening anymore?

I was only interested in the Siouxsie & The Banshees single (now not happening) and The Stiff Box Set (until I saw the track listing) so nothing for me!

I always walk into the store on a RSD with a top budget of $150. If the pickings really are slim on "exciting" stuff, maybe this time I might pick up a few of the more esoteric things that I'd otherwise skip.

My hobby is lucky enough to have two "holidays" per year. They feel like celebrations to me. I'm going to participate no matter what. :D

I'd love to own the Vinyl edition of Bob Dylan's "Side Tracks" is there anyone out there who could help hook me up with a copy?

FYI, that wasn't the reason. Pre-orders are OK on Black Friday, by the way. It's confusing - I know!

Any word on who mastered the Paul Simon records?

I'm guessing the b-side is actually not a new song. "Breath" is actually "Breathe" from No Line on the Horizon, although it may be a previously unreleased version or, more likely, a live recording.

I'll see if I can confirm that. Thanks!

I had forgotten about this, but U2 fan sites are speculating that the b-side might be an alternate studio version of "Breathe" that was used in a documentary about South Africa earlier this year. The revised lyrics specifically reference Nelson Mandela, so it would make sense for this to appear as the b-side to "Ordinary Love." Thanks for breaking the news about this release here, Bull Moose!

Glad to do it. It had to be mentioned somewhere, so why not here? Anyway, the info U2's people gave us is that it is new music and Breath, not Breathe. Either way, it's really great that they chose to release it this way.

Newbie and U2 fan thirsty for new music here...registered here after someone posted a link to this thread from the U2Interference forum. I was just wondering Bull Moose (and I hope this doesn't sound too accusatory, because I'm not calling you a liar), what kind of connection to "U2's people" do you actually have?

    Welcome the the forum.

That's an entirely reasonable question. I work in a music store, so I asked the person within the RSD organisation who set it up with U2's people.

    Take care,
    Chris

Update: We have clarification that the U2 b-side is indeed a new version of "Breathe," the track from No Line on the Horizon. Sorry for the confusion everyone. By the way, Pocketmerlin, would you mind updating folks on the U2 forum? We want to get the corrected information out quickly.

I hope you continue to hang out here on the Hoffman forum. You'll find that the real deal is discussed here often.
