David Bowie - Aladdin Sane - 70s pressing (dynaflex, I don't know too much about pressings of this). Cover is in excellent shape. Vinyl is reasonably clean and the tracks I sampled there sounded great (IMO)
    $30

Flaming Lips - And Heady Fwends
2 Sealed copies, each $50. Limited RSD colored vinyl.

I see stuff all the time that's good. I'd buy it, but I already have it !!

    Like, all cd's btw,

The Eurythmics, "Sweet Dreams", Japan for US RCA in VG+/EX shape. $1.99

The Fixx, "Reach the Beach", Japan for US MCA in VG+/EX shape. $1.99

Beach Boys, "Made in the USA", original US Capitol EX shape. $1.99 (I had them hold this to the side for me and I'll get it tomorrow) Sound MUCH better than my MONO 'Greatest Hits' cd from 1999.

I'm just not in the business of resale, but I see stuff all the time I could get quite a bit more to the right buyer....

I left a sealed Japanese edition of Elvis Costello's North at the Newbury Comics in Northampton, MA yesterday. $5.99. They also had three of the new green-vinyl Talking Heads Fear of Music LPs for $24.99.

I was at Stereo Jack's in Cambridge, MA (go there if you've not been before) this afternoon on my lunch break. Apparently they've recently bought the collection of someone "in the industry" that had a stock of some collectible limited editions. Among the rarities I saw were:

Sealed copy of R.E.M. - Single Action Green 45 rpm set
Several original sealed copies of R.E.M.'s limited edition wooden box for Automatic For The People,
Sealed copy of R.E.M.'s Out of Time
Sealed copy of Lou Reed/John Cale's Songs For Drella ($4.99!)

I snagged a copy of Songs for Drella and the last copy of Prince's Batman "Batcan" CD, however it seemed like there were plenty of treasures to be found.

Anyone in the Pittsburgh area? Half-Price Books, McKnight Road has a copy of Led Zeppelin IV (Zoso) made in Japan, smooth sided case, in what I would call near mint condition for $6.99. I have a similar copy so I passed.

Spotted today in the new arrivals bin at Waterloo Records in Austin: Lyndsey Buckingham Law & Order WG target.

  10. CD's left in the FYE in Pittsfield, Mass.:

Grover Washington "Winelight" in smooth sided case
Linda Ronstadt "Get Closer" in smooth case, tray card says "printed in West Germany"
Journey "Escape" in smooth sided jewel case.
Earth Wind & Fire "Raise" in smooth sided jewel case
Wagner "Ride of the Valkyries" CBS Great Performances, smooth sided jewel case.

There were many other early CBS, and a few other label, CD's in thick ribbed slightly yellowing cases so someone dumped a pretty early collection at some point in the past.

I didn't scan the bins too closely, it's hard for some artists as the named dividers get in your way, probably some other goodies still there.

Jacksonville, FL has Targets CDs at the Beach Flea Market from various sellers:

    Cars - Heartbeat City
    Hendrix - Kiss the Sky
    Al Jarreau - Jarreau
    Various Glover Washington Jrs.

Non-Targets would include Born to Run Japan for US CBS CD and others I'm forgetting.

  13. At Toonerville Records in Williamstown, MA:

Zombies - Greatest Hits - DCC mastered by Steve Hoffman
XTC - Go 2 - Made in Japan for UK, no UPC
Kitaro - 2 Polydor West Germany titles under the counter)

  14. Berkeley doesn't have anything worthwhile. The Rundgren is overpriced IMHO
Berkeley doesn't have much. Some of the titles at SF location are a bit over priced.

Clearly I repeat myself when under stress.

No more steals at Amoeba. They got a database a long time ago.

It is what it is. There are more used premium titles there than I've seen in quite a while.

Any target collectors in Pittsburgh here? I saw 3 WG targets at the HPB on McKnight that I passed on as I already have copies:

    Dire Straits - S/T
The Best of Emerson, Lake & Palmer
    ZZ Top - Eliminator

The Dire Straits and ELP were in the $5 - $6 range. ZZ Top was $8.

I left a Lennon "Double Fantasy" MoFi at Green Apple Books in SF a few weeks ago. I think it was like $12 or $19 but scratched.

I guess no one on this thread lives near Manassas - I went back to McKay's last week and those targets were still there!

They had other overseas pressings, too, that I didn't want...

This store in Toronto: http://pandemonium.ca/blog/ has a best of Leon Russell DCC CD mastered by S.H. It was in the "New Arrivals" section yesterday for $9.99.
I bought a copy a few weeks ago at a record show. It sounds fantastic.

The McCartney Deluxe books were in Last Vestige in Albany, NY this morning. With today's sale, Ram was $52.50, The rest (except the absent WOA) were $45.50. Had to resist them.

  24. Left at the Trading Post in Canton CT:

Allan Holdsworth "Metal Fatigue" enigma Japan for US, in great shape
Allan Holdsworth "Atavachron" Enigma Japan for US, also in great shape
Joe Walsh "Confessor" West German target
There was also a jazz target, sorry forget the (male) artist
There were a number (maybe a dozen) US DADC hub pop/rock CDs as well as a West Germany silver hub Joan Armatrading disc
They are looking up discs online as a couple early pressings had prices well over $10 but I got a couple nice discs cheap. There is also some serious junk in the bins, inspect discs carefully. Oh, and I've found treasures in the boxes on the floor, just didn't have time this time.

I come up to visit friends halfway between Hartford and New Haven sometimes - is this store usually worth the trip?
