I may be thinking of another one, but I believe this is the one that was packed onto one record for sale here in the states.

Monterverdi. L'Incoronazione di Poppea. Harnoncourt, Soderstrom, Donath. Teldec

An early attempt at a more period-sensitive style for Monteverdi's greatest opera which has held up well over the years mainly because of the superior singing.

As far as I'm aware the S-I 9th was only sold as a single record in the UK (Decca SXL 6233). The recording is nevertheless excellent.

One of my favorite Rach 3s and Rach 2s for that matter.

For the Rach 3, that's as good as it gets, IMO.

After it received a nice write-up in the New York Times this morning I listened to Marcus Lindberg's second piano concerto via MOG. Yefim Bronfmann and the NY Phil. I think the comparisons of the music to Bartok and Ravel are accurate.

Wozzeck. Alban Berg. Mitropoulos, Harrell, Farrell, NYPO CBS 6 eye.

All of the recorded Wozzecks have their flaws unfortunately. Here the dry mono sonics are the problem. The singing and conducting are excellent.
