  1. I suppose if you saw the Foreign version of the film it might make sense except that the pers0n I referred to only saw the English versi0n of the film. So there’s that.

On some file formats today, that's exactly what would happen. Back in those days, not a lot of people got the idea of "scaling," which is a big factor between SD, HD, 2K, and 4K these days.

Tell that guy to STFU. He's just p!ssed-off that WB is dumping it on HBOMax and not exclusively in theaters. Reviews are mixed so far. I suspect I'm gonna lean in this direction:

Thing is, I think Villeneuve is a pretty great director, and I loved Blade Runner 2049. But all this blame-Marvel-movies-for-the-death-of-cinema nonsense is starting to seem like bandwagoning.

That said, I can’t muster up much excitement for another adaptation of Dune.

It baffles me how Denis Villeneuve went from the geeky guy from Quebec who made the little Francophone movie about a girl having degrading sex while being taunted existentially by a talking fish -- to being a Hollywood big-shot holding forth about the future of popular cinema.

He's like James Gunn, if James Gunn completely forgot where he came from.

I'm gonna watch it -- at home, on a calibrated display -- but I reserve the right to grind my teeth and complain the entire time. Not a huge fan of the 1980s film, but I did read the book and know the story.

Skeeter from Muppet Babies was the baby version of Janice from The Muppet Show.

That there are no Hollywood films being produced these days other than remakes, sequels and comic book movies.

That is definitely the dumbest thing I've heard about movies, and I've heard it over and over again by people who really should know better. And it's completely disproven if you actually take a look at what's in the theater.

Alien is the 1st one. Aliens is the sequel. How is that inaccurate?

But...it is (albeit starring The Three Stooges).

Yes, it ultimately goes elsewhere, but if it's a sequel why in God's name does Ash return to the cabin? Indeed, given the conclusion of The Evil Dead, how is Ash even alive? Of course, the film doesn't care about these mere niceties, and neither should we. That's all part of the gag. :)

Stating that ALIENS is a better movie than ALIEN is the inaccuracy.

A unheralded classic that shall stand the test of time. Just kidding; never saw it. I've never even seen the first one.

Sure is. In every conceivable way. No contest. :)

That the last 40 years of movies compare in quality to the previous 40 years.

I was born in the 80s, but I would seriously take just the 70s over the 1980-2022.

'Aliens' may be a better action movie but 'Alien' is a better horror movie. In every conceivable way.

i could easily shoot someone but probably not for that. Unless we were drinking and he kept getting louder and insisting and took a swing at me with a machete then, yes I might.

It is, basically. The entire first movie is remade in the first 15 minutes with two cast members written out of the storyline. In essence that statement is pretty accurate.
