I've been informed that the stereo analog master tapes have arrived. Tuesday, the 18th of October I'll be at Marsh Mastering in Hollywood to master the legendary "Crosby, Stills & Nash" S/T album for Audio Fidelity. There is room for three of you. Start time is 11:00 am sharp.

Would you like to sit in? If so, please send me a PM, I'll let you know in a few days.

    Cameras allowed.

The studio is on Cosmo Street, that little weird street right West of Gower that goes North/South from Selma to Hollywood Blvd. Almost like a back alley but it's a real street. Vintage buildings on the street. Park in the lot on Selma. Eight bucks.

Watching mastering is kind of like watching grass grow but lunch is involved so it won't be too bad..:)

Space is really limited so let me know quickly via PM....

That's it, I'm moving to California, as that's "Where The Action Is!". Looking VERY forward to hearing the mastering of this all-time classic album. Whoever gets lucky enough to go, please take many photos and then, please share them with all of us!

Someday, I would love to attend a mastering session and witness the process. Unfortunately, I just can't so it now. I really would like to eventually.

I envy the people who will be attending. Hearing the master tape of "Guinnevere" in the studio will be incredible!

  18. It would be amazing to get the entire CSN oeuvre from Audio Fidelity. Hopefully this is the start of more to come.

Would love to see (and hear) one of my favorite albums get the "treatment".
I hope I'm one of the lucky ones.

Every iteration of this album I've heard has been sonically unimpressive IMO. Unless a better tape has surfaced, I wonder what can be done for this music except to possibly sweeten it a little, bring out a bit more detail. Still, if it turns out well, I'd consider buying, though I am not a major CSN fan. I like the CSN album they did a few years later, the one with them on a sailing boat on the cover -- which I think is a much better recording too.

    OMG...Sale!
I assume that Crosby's snippet of "Come on in my kitchen" just before 49 bye-byes will (again) not be included for legal reasons? It is imprinted in my brain and just doesn't sound right without that "intro"!
