I sorted tickets for London O2 Arena. Can't wait for this! I last saw Stereolab in about 1997 or so. They were always great live.

BTW, will a gort please merge the two Stereolab threads?

Not to worry: There's no way that Gane will let the standard editions go oop so soon! :righton:

Black vinyl back in stock on Duophonic site. I'll stick with "Transient Random Noise-Bursts With Announcements" on the CD with tape obi as I like the look of that one with the obi, but I'll cancel my CD order of "Mars Audiac Quintet" and get the black vinyl instead.

I’m going to try to be the first in line for “Dots and Loops!” I have the “1972” label pressing... awful.

What I find extremely annoying is that they are playing everywhere. Yet not a single Berlin date. Maybe it's enough that Tim lives and has his reissues mastered here!

I only have one of the 1972 reissues - Transient... the rest of my Stereolab vinyl are fortunately original pressings. That said: while 1972 for sure used a digital master for transient, at least this one doesn't sound too bad. Noise free vinyl, mastering wise not spectacular, but also no stinker.

Think you mean O2 Shepherds Bush Empire - The O2 arena is a way bigger proposition for Stereolab

    2000 capacity vs 20,000

Reminds me when a friend thought his Depeche Mode ticket for Wembley Arena thinking it was Wembley Stadium and tried to get into a football game

No Chicago date either. What is up with that? I assume they will be playing at one of our festivals.

Gah! Slip of the tongue. I have the O2 Arena on my mind at the moment because I'm going there tonight - Massive Attack with Liz Fraser :p. I don't like big indoor venues at all though. The Empire is a much better place to see a groop.

This is such amazing news. A top 5 band for me. Saw them about 6 times pre-hiatus and was afraid they'd never come back. Got my 9:30 Club tix.

Sheesh, I can't believe the tickets and records are disappearing so quickly.

So, any clear vinyl sets NOT purchased from their site won't have the obi, right?

I was going to hold off buying tickets for financial reasons but seeing how quickly they're selling out everywhere I bought a pair today. Thankfully Phoenix AZ must not be a hotspot for the Groop, they're playing one of the smallest venues in the state and it's still not sold out. Gonna be an awesome show

Just trying to work out what is going on here with the vinyl represses. Can you set me straight?

Initial presses are on clear vinyl, with a scratch card. But then there is another limited 500 press run of clear vinyl that also has this OBI strip, that from what I can gather is just not available to anyone outside of the US ? (certainly not the UK anyway).

Just weighting up if its worth the stress to try and get the clear one with the OBI strip or just go black vinyl.

The clear vinyl with OBI were available from the band/the label but sold out - the UK allocation sold out before the US, hence the availability issue.
