I have a saying ( not coined by me) that has served me well over the years ... " Buy Once, Cry Once" That philosophy has curbed my "upgrad-itis" and avoided many lateral moves. A lateral move is NOT an upgrade , make an upgrade count.

What makes you say this ? Their first album has Lady Eleanor , which is one of the band's best known songs , as well as We can swing together , their most popular live song

A great album on first listen, some good modern pop music with some really cool synths in some places. I'll admit, there are some corny lines here and there, but overall it's some really good writing. Currently listening to the deluxe addition...

By “bubble,” I assume you mean her career that has already lasted 18 years? Yeah, I’m sure people will stop listening to her music real soon now.

:kilroy: There are a lot of ignorant people who not only think that "American Pie" was Don McLean's first album, but that it was his only album. [IMG]

Yep. I had some of the fears you did about what this album might be. My fears were leaning more towards she might do a "break up" album in a perfunctory sort of way. I was still looking forward to it, though. I have no problems with a break up...

I can't really pick out an obvious single, either. It's coming off to me as a complete entity as far as the album goes. There is definitely a lot to absorb, warranting a few listens to really take it all in. That I want to do that is a sign...

It's been hard to really focus on all these tracks, it's a work day. But I've made a decent dent. One thing that comes through is that these are folk songs. A couple of exceptions aside. Using a Dylan-esque style, the musical backdrop is...

As much as I think Let It Be deserves and needs to be seen and known -- it's bound to be pretty underwhelming after we got 8 hours of killer footage in Get Back. The original film is pretty dismal, with incomplete takes of songs and long periods...

Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" would make me tear up if I wasn't so dead inside.
