I just wanted to warn all of our members that are Ebay buyers to be ware of a seller named dvdchicago whose email address is [email protected]

I respectfully paid in an appropriate amount of time after having a bit of effort in exchanging emails with this seller. I believed that all was well and fine because the seller had a perfect positive feedback record of over 50. After 1 month I became suspicious as a couple of negative feedbacks appeared. I sent 3 polite emails at different times spread out over the next 2 months. No replies, no feedback. It's always a shock the first time. :(

    Dave,

Lots fo resources out there, depending on how much you paid (and how much time you have to follow up)

Links above, but Postal Fraud, Credit Card fraud come to mind and the mention of either have scared the few sellers I've had like this to miraculously resolve the problem one way or another.

    Good luck,
    MIKE

Very sad....thanks for the warning, Dave!

I've had sellers go bad on me offline as well...people once reliable who turned weird in just the way you described....and always, until things went south, things seemed to be just fine, no hassles...hell, there was one guy out of CA I used to talk to on the phone all the time, and then....who knows what happened, but he kept about $100 of my bucks and stiffed me on some 45's....it cost at least half the amount just to raise hell with the CA BBB(Better Business Bureau)to get those records....and I eventually did, but never heard a thing from him, just the stuff after almost a year, no apology or explanation for what was up....

Strange people, strange world.... And then you move on, nothing left to do....

Thanks Mike! :) At this point it's not so much the money and I don't really want to go through all of the hassle to obtain the $20.00 I lost, but more just a cautionary reality for all members.

    That is pretty rotten, Dave.

I felt the same way after being burned by an ebay seller for an EJ DCC Gr.Hits disc. So many good transactions, then a sour one comes along and ruins the week for you.

I always think "What comes around, goes around". I was lucky enough to have a forum member make a good trade for the very disc I got stiffed on. I wish similar luck to you to offset your troubles.

In all honesty Sam, I have been more than compensated by the kindness of my friends here. I am one of the fortunate ones and most grateful. This poor person who stole from me must have a very lonely life with no one who cares. I paid with money. They paid with their dignity and soul.

DCC Deep Purple Made in Japan with spelling Errors

Hello All, I'm new to this site and have a Question, I Purchased a DCC Gold Cd of Deep Purples "Made In Japan" off EBAY and when i Opened it i Noticed Both spelling errors on the back of the cd as well as the cd itself with the song credits, first off on the CD it says All selections written by Gillian,Glover,Lord & Price? what the .....? we all no this is wrong then on the back of the cd it is printed same way but says Gillian,Glover,Lord & Paice No Mention of Blackmore? so i take it i got ripped off? or was this how some copies got released? or did someone buy this at a DCC bargain site and turn around and put it on ebay? any feed back on this i would be Thankful? - Bruce

Hi Bruce, Welcome to Steve's.

I just checked mine and it definitely has Paice & Lord.

Please post the Ebay sellers name so that everyone can see to avoid this seller. Also, can you post a scan of your "phoney", either from the sellers ad or your own. Thx. :)

The Forum software is hanging me up on editing in my previous post. Blackmore is only mentioned in the booklet and not on the CD or the back panel on mine Bruce. Perhaps the best way is to listen to be sure.

DCC Deep Purple Made In Japan (gold)

Dave, it says on the cd All Selections written by Gillian,Glover,Lord & Price then on the back side of the cd case it says All Selections written by Gillian,Glover,Lord & Paice so perhaps there are plenty out there like this? my other versions of this cd have all five members listed credit wise on backside of cd case? Thanks, Bruce P.s. I can do a scan at work tommorrow if youd like? P.s. and yes Paice is spelled Price on the cd and blackmore is missing

Re: DCC Deep Purple Made In Japan (gold)

Ok, mine is the exact same as yours with the mis-print of Price and the 2 omissions of Blackmore. Mine was purchased through a reputable retailer. Here's a scan of mine, sorry about the size:
