    Hello, SHF Members,

Due to space limitations, I am forced to trim my CD collection. I have some rare CDs I'd like to sell, such as the DCC Gold versions of Elton John's Greatest Hits from 1994 and The Eagles' Greatest Hits from 1993 --- still sealed and in perfect condition. Plus Japan mini-LPs and some rare A&M Japan CDs, out-of-print soundtracks, etc.

My dilemma is that I really don't want to get involved with Amazon or ebay, even though I see that most members here do sell their music on ebay. So I was wondering if it was possible to list the CDs here at the Forum Marketplace, and just entertain offers from members.

Or perhaps if you think that ebay is really not that big a hassle, you might recommend I give ebay a shot?

I respect the opinions of members here (the best Forum on the web), and so I would really appreciate any advice.

    Thanks in advance,
    ---wendigone

Here you are, please read this. I think it's fairly clearly spelled out to understand the regulations.

He's not going to be able to see that with only 4 posts @Dave .

Don’t you need a certain number of posts before you can list music for sale.

In that case, he either better get busy or use eBay, which is very easy to use. He could also sell them to a dealer, but you’ll only get cents on the dollar.

:agree: I think there is but I was unable to find where it mentions this. I believe it would be the only reason @wendigone wouldn't be able to post an ad considering his/her long duration tenancy here on SHMF.

You need to have 50 posts before you can list on classifieds here. Use eBay, Amazon, Discogs. Have fun, and entertain away!

It's at the top of the Classifieds Home page. Wasn't it you Dave who introduced the idea of a Classifieds section back in the day ?

Okay, got it, I need 50 posts to sell here, and I only have 4.
I do admit that I enjoy this forum immensely, but I rarely post. I enjoy the discussions, but some of us aren't the proactive type.
Thanks for all your responses, and I may try ebay and see how it goes.

I've recently returned to eBay after an absence of many years. Not to be some kind of expert, just recently and currently involved so maybe my recent experiences could be helpful.
They get 10% of what appears to be the total sale inc. shipping, but not sales tax which they charge the buyers then deduct from your Pay Pal deposit of the sale.
They also have a practice I'm not too fond of where after a week or so, if you didn't choose the Make An Offer option, they implement it, then inform you by email that they have. I hate this, as I have to go in and adjust my listing back to where I want it.

Here there are no fees to list.
