2020 will mark 50 years of Paul McCartney releasing proper solo albums. Will Paul let this milestone pass without a major acknowledgment? Anybody else think we may see a release titled McCartney III? Final tour announcement?
This is my first! Yes, I realize Egypt Station hasn't even been released yet but I think 2020 could, will and should be an historic year for Paul.
McCartney III should have come out in 1990, IV in 2000, V in 2010 and VI in 2020. Of course Capitol did release Beatles’ VI in 1965.
I read the thread heading as "McCartney ill in 2020". I thought "what makes you so certain he's going to fall ill? Been reading tea-leaves?
McCartney III will be out as soon as he manages to ditch that band of his. Since they've been hanging on for aeons now, I can only assume that one or more of them has something on him. I suspect Wix, obviously as he is currently the primo hanger-on having been camping out at Macca's since, like, Elvis Costello was waiting for his toast to pop up in the kitchen there.
I've got a book full of them. I'm gonna fleece Macca to buy my silence. I wonder if we'll get a McCartney IV in 2040?
I would have been disappointed if Egypt Station was called McCartney III. It's not produced by himself and it's not released in a year that ends with a "0". 2020 would be cool, but I wonder if he'll go a Traveling Wilburys route and do McCartney IV.
Could be Asperger's Syndrome. Possibly a higher percentage of record collectors are aspergic. They like the order. Maybe they really like Chicago...now there's a thought...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't "McCartney II" only his second album actually released under the aegis of "Paul McCartney", hence the "II"? Ram was released as by "Paul and Linda McCartney", and the next few albums were all "Wings". Since II he has released several more albums under the name of Macca, so calling the next one "III" would make no sense. I realise these things don't have to make sesnse, but I offer that by way of explanation for why I don't think it will happen.
Correct. So, Tug Of War is McCartney III. Pipes Of Peace can be Zoso, Four Symbols, oh no, hang on .... Chicago influence? Give My Regards To Hot Streets?
Yet another day in the life of pointless Beatle threads Who needs other artist topics when we have these to expand our minds lol.
