Still a stunning piece of work 50+ years later. Bet the Nobel panel brought this up in discussion.

In the 60's it was The Times They Are a-Changing (which was also my first favorite Dylan song overall)
In the 70's it was One Too Many Mornings
In the 80's it was Boots Of Spanish Leather
Then at some point in the 90's it became Restless Farewell
Which kind of makes sense I think
so I voted for Restless Farewell

    Title piece!

I also like When the Ship Comes In (based on Palms of Victory, done by Uncle Dave Macon and Carter Family). But the bootleg on piano was even better, I think.

  6. Boots Of Spanish Leather. I prefer Dylan as a romantic to Dylan as a protest folk singer.

    Boots of Spanish Leather.

This is actually one of my top three favorite Dylan records. I adore the songs and sound of this record. Dylan's flat, hayseed singing tone during this period perfectly matches these stories. I know it isn't a popular opinion, but this is my favorite of the pre-electric albums. :)

No this IS the best before Bringing It All Back Home! Just think if it had included Lay Down Your Weary Tune and Who Killed Davy Moore!

Love me " One Too Many Mornings".

Going to spin this original mono vinyl later today. Thoroughly cleaned of course.

My vote as well, even though I prefer a snarling, vitriolic Dylan to anything. Still, Boots of Spanish Leather gets me right down in the gut every time.

    And Seven Curses.

Tough call, as there are so many classics on the album. Was going to go with Boots , but Lonesome Death of Hattie Carol is my pick because it is such a brilliantly composed protest song. Devastating indictment of social class injustice. "Bury the rag deep in your face..."

The chilling "Ballad of Hollis Brown." For one so young, how does he...know? A testament to his genius.

  20. Voted for "The Times They Are A-Changin'", but... tough choice to make!!

I prefer this album to "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" even & there were lots of honorable mentions here - almost everything else on this great album - the only slightly lesser tracks here for me are "Ballad Of Hollis Brown" & "North Country Blues", everything else crossed my mind & was worthy of my vote, and those two lessers are still plenty fine ...

Even more amazing that things went up a notch to even higher heights with "Another Side Of Bob Dylan"- which to me feels like the great bridge from this earlier, pure acoustic, folkier realm into "Bringing It All Back Home".

TTTAAC a Dylan game changer indeed. Dylan was in a different hemisphere from which he would never come back from the remainder 1960's.

From the music in those grooves to the historical lp cover this album spoke volumes to all who would listen.
