THE COMPLETE CONCERT BY THE SEA - ERROLL GARNER (Columbia/Legacy) 3CD
RECORDED LIVE IN CARMEL, CALIFORNIA, 19th SEPTEMBER 1955

    with
Erroll Garner (piano), Denzil DeCosta Best (drums), Eddie Calhoun (bass)

    CD 1 & 2 -
The Complete Concert By The Sea

CD 3 - Concert By The Sea (Original LP/CD edited edition). Tagged on at the end of this disc is an extra 14 minutes plus interview courtesy of the Monterey Jazz Festival Archive with Will Thornbury talking to Erroll Garner, Denzil DeCosta Best & Eddie Calhoun just after their concert performance.
All CDs remastered by Jessica Thompson. Everything packaged in a four way folded cardboard sleeve (which has a larger face size than normal CDs). The three discs are housed inside in slots/pockets that open toward the left hand side. There's a quality 24 page glossy booklet included.

I find myself appreciating this release much more now than I did at the time of release (2015).

I believe that may be the only US cd release outside the Larry Young Mosaic set.

  13. Thats a great box. Have it too among other JATP boxes.
JATP was discussed also in a special thread here I seem to remember: Verve LP reissues: Jazz At The Philharmonic

John Carter (3) & Bobby Bradford ‎– Mosaic Select
    Label: Mosaic Records (2) ‎– MS-036
    Series: Mosaic Select – 36
Format: Box Set, Limited Edition 3 × CD, Compilation
    Country: US
    Released: 2010
Currently playing Disc 2. The first track was recorded in late '69, with the others recorded November 9, 1971 and April 4, 1972. Bradford with a couple of compositions here while the rest are from Carter, who plays brilliantly - as does Bradford for that matter. The later tracks on this disc are actually a bit groove-oriented which was surprising. Some of these tracks come from this album:

John Carter (3) / Bobby Bradford ‎– Secrets
    Label: Revelation Records (3) ‎– revelation 18, Revelation Records (3) ‎– REVELATION 18, Revelation Records (3) ‎– REV-18
    Released: 1973

While the rest were previously not issued. A great entry in the Mosaic Select series.

Denny Zeitlin (p) + Charlie Haden (b) + Jerry Granelli (dr) .... a rather unsung but fabulous 60`s Piano Trio recording led by very interesting pianist Denny Zeitlin .... btw superb transfer via this Universal Japan CD edition from 2014 .... get it (means the music - which is not part of the Denny Zeitlin Mosaic Select box - in this edition) while you can ....

I bought this on Labor Day at a big garage sale full of records. There were a lot of promo things (someone worked in radio I assume?) but mostly rock stuff...

I've only listened once but good first impression. Stand out track was Dollar Brand's "tintiyana", a kind of African 3 against 4 jam. Also the Thad Jones songs are great. Excited to listen again tonight.
