There’s apparently a Netflix deal being negotiated at the moment. Good luck to that ole chunk of coal.
Norm Macdonald Is Getting His Own New Netflix Talk Show Netflix is snatching up some of the biggest names in the comedy world. Add Norm Macdonald to the list. Macdonald has signed up for 10 episodes of “Norm Macdonald Has a Show,” which the comedian referenced on Twitter early Friday. I have a new show on @netflix and I'm tweeting the text exchange that started it all. pic.twitter.com/xNA48bZlVl — Norm Macdonald (@normmacdonald) March 9, 2018 The news may not come as a shock to fans, especially after the comedian revealed Netflix’s interest in a Reddit AMA back in January. But along with Friday’s news comes some additional official details. Co-host of the “Norm Macdonald Live” Adam Eget will also be joining this new Netflix venture, which will maintain some of the current show’s format: a famous guest and an informal chat. “Norm Macdonald Has a Show” will add the occasional outside-the-studio glimpse at “Norm’s world.”
So great for Norm. Always felt that he missed out on having a solid place up there with the greats with nothing from his past endeavors really sticking out for the long haul on a major scale. Hopefully now with this talk show, his name will be etched in stone forever as one of the great ones. His work (and patience) paid off.
Well, I'm glad for Norm that this will increase his exposure and wallet, but it does take some value out of YouTube Red.
Any update on this new Norm show? Also, what do people think will happen to his prior podcast shows? Are they gone forever?
I haven't checked recently but I believe the only place to find a backup of these episodes were on Amazon Prime. You could purchase most of the last season they had on there. Not sure if it's still there but it was last year when I lchecked.
I hope they do come back somewhere at some point. I could watch the one with Super Dave until the end of time. I've been getting my Norm fill on YouTube from an account run by user "I'm not Norm" who, oddly enough, also has some pretty sweet t-shirts for sale as well.
Great to finally see him out there. Screw those idiots who wanted to run him off. Fantastic talent and by all accounts a good person.
Norm MacDonald is a very funny man. He's got some great stories about how and why he was fired from Saturday Night Live, where reportedly NBC exec Don Ohlmeyer was a friend of O.J. Simpson's and objected to Norm calling O.J. a "murderer" in 1998 on the SNL Weekend Update segment.
