    3 help>slip>Franklin’s in a row I notice. That’s perfectly fine with me.

Watching the unbearably noisy Seaside Chat now, and just subscribed to yet another SHFM Dead thread. :)

I wonder what we get this year for #30 with the bonus disc?

I see it was 3rd in the Deadbase poll for 77 shows. I have it on cassette, I don't rate it nearly that high. It's fine, but 77 is one of my least favorite years, and I already don't like the subscription model (though I'm less ornery about that now that they are raising the number of sets again to 20,000.)

It's fine, I can allocate those funds towards the good stuff they should be putting out this year (5oth anniversary of Aoxmoxoa and Live/Dead etc.)

I'll leave my orneriness aside for now and let those who want to subscribe have at it, maybe next year we will get a Dark Star, or a Blue Ron sighting in the first installment, and they will finally get my money.

  6. Hopefully it’s from the 1980’s whatever it is . . .

Is there an existing 3 set show from 1980?

Otherwise, I'll guess one show from the Brent era, one from 78 and a wild card for the fourth. Has there been a year without a 72-74 show?

I hope it isn’t another 71 show! 71 can be left alone for a while

Right, Deadheads can be a stubborn bunch, and some of us are not interested in paying for shows we don't want. And some of us think they should make the shows available to those who are willing to pay for them, within reason, notwithstanding their concern that without ebay scalpers and 'collectible' enthusiasts they wouldn't sell enough.

Both are extremely reasonable propositions, given the history of the band and their fans. I know many don't like talking about that, but someone asked...
There are at least 26 3 set shows from 1980, because they did that acoustic set on the fall tour.

    Order placed!!

Ordered 2 nights JRAD in January (18th & 20th) although by mistake I ordered disabled seats for Friday 1/18 but in any case I’m in!!!

Wife loves the Dead but she might think this is a bit of overkill

The blurb on dead.net mentioned they are bumping up the production to 20,000 copies for each of the picks this year. Seems like a hefty uptick.

Pulling the trigger tomorrow. A bargain. And 2/26/77 is 29? Oh hell yes. Setlist = drool. What an amazin' show.
20K is what i expected, but all 2019 Picks will still sell-out in less than 24 hours.

#30 should be 6-10-73. Way overdue for retail release. Bonus disc with the ABB boys. Just exactly perfect.

I don't think we will ever see a show with the Allmans as a Dave's Pick. The Allmans people will want too much money for it to work out as a limited edition.

Dave's been on record that the economics of shows with guests don't work out for Dave's Picks (though maybe now that they're up to 20,000 copies.)

I meant with good existing tapes in the vault. I know the multis were not kept after making Dead Set and Reckoning.

Ordered! I'm glad to take myself out of the ala carte ordering that happened this year. These releases are the ONLY CDs I purchase anymore. Any idea what will be the next vinyl box besides whatever gets done for RSD?
