They are consistently holding all my packages for a week before moving them on to another facility. I have never had any on time deliveries whenever it makes its way to NJ. I dread it everytime.

My order from bullmoose has been sitting at NJ since 4/22, with zero movement.

When I order from Importcds my orders go to Jersey City and they are never there for more than a day before they are sent to my local post office.

They get held up there sometimes, it's a busy place. Chicago is 100x worse, they've lost ~5% of the packages I've sent there (4 in total) and I was left with the burden of refunding the customer.

Things can also process through a plant without ever being scanned or data entered into the system. This happens often. In this case your package will reappear at its next scan, usually as it is out for delivery.

If you are really lucky your package will spend ten days there, leave and then get sucked back in for another three or four days. It has happened to me more than once.

I've had a few packages get stuck there for 7-10 days, and had one that spent several weeks there last year. It seems like I've been luckier of late...knock on wood.

I live in the general area and have had the same experience as the OP. Oddly enough, the Post Office in my town routes almost everything there first, even if it is only travelling within the same town as the post office! I have paid for priority mail to other states and it has taken 10-15 days to arrive. Why? Routed first to Jersey City and hung up for days.:realmad:

Stuff from LA arrived earlier and was shipped later compared to NJ.. Perhaps it's safe to say my package is lost.

Just last year I mailed a Priority package and a Media Mail package at the same time to the same address. The Media Mail package was delivered 2 days before the Priority package.

I don't know, sometimes there is no rhyme or reason. Thankfully there were not routed through that NJ facility!

The USPS Chicago facility is horrible. I have a $150 LP (shipping to Sweden) and it hasn't been scanned since the end of May; it just shows the arrival scan to Chicago and...nothing else. Not the first time this has happened, unfortunately. Try getting some customer service out of them and that causes even more frustration...:realmad:

    Ahhh, that feels better...:p

I sent 2 packages from my local post office and one which went to NJ was delivered in 2 days. The other which is going to NY the same state has been pinging back and forth between PA and Jersey City for 2 weeks now!!! Today when I tried to track it the service wasn't available!! I am SO pissed off! My grandchildren's bday cards are in it and gifts. UPS does mail and from now on all my mailing will be done through them!

I have a DAC that I bought through Ebay from the Ukraine. One week to travel from Kiev to NYC, passes customs in one day, gets to NYC USPS in one day...now, all it needs to do is go from NYV to North Bergen, NJ,,,right across the river. Its been 21 days...I placed a trace online, and crickets...

Ongoing problems at that facility. One of about 3, Chicago Metro and Bellflower CA are the others.

That relieves me, hope mine shows up too because it's been almost a month now and it was last updated at that facility just like that "in transit to destination"

I've never had a problem with Jersey City. I've got a package coming from Soundstage Direct, here's the info:
    6/28 picked up Doylestown Pa.
    6/29 arrived at Jersey City
    7/1 arrived at Jacksonville Fl
7/2 arrived at North Port Hub
7/3 will be delivered sometime in the a.m.
discs could be spinning sometime later in the day.....:D

I’ve had great luck with media mail for years, despite living rural stuff arrives usually in a week or less and ahead of initial ETA. lately I’ve gotten two items stuck in Jersey City. Apparently this is common? One hasn’t budged since mid July, no tracking updates since then, and now another one hasn’t been updated in a week. I’ve opened a claim on the July piece with no update, the number on my claim was for a local guy who can only try emailing jersey city.

Any advice here? I hate to ask seller for a refund if the USPS is the one that screwed up. Both were great deals too so I hate to not get either. Argh!

Dan, if you paid by Paypal don't worry because they honor their 180 day window for reporting non-receipts.

Following up on my earlier post - out of nowhere after six weeks of zero tracking history, the record stuck in Jersey City showed up in perfect shape. Crazy.
