I originally bought the Polygram cassette "Hank Williams Greatest Hits - 14 of Hank's Best" in the 80's....it had the song versions with drums, piano, electric guitar and string overdubs. It wasn't til a few years later I borrowed "40 Greatest"...

And a lot of those Atlantic sessions weren't recorded warm and rich - sound quality wise. Could be that Kevin mastered Ole a little bit too truthful to the master.

hahahaha, same thing happened to me…checking them both out making sure everything looks good and couldn’t get them back in until I swapped the inner sleeve with mofi sleeves, problem solved

Take into account the mastering, please. The flat Plangent transfers sound wayyyy different and very close to the original timbre, as Fremer has subsequently heard. I took Mikey to task for omitting that variable and he has privately...
