Who is that supposed to be a picture of?
Is Dylan's self image really that skewed?
It looks more like Anthony Bourdain.

Looks more like one of the Clancy Brothers from one of their iconic 60s sleeves, right down to the Aran jumper.

It's maybe good to have a short recap of what's actually going on, as the previous thread started with all kinds of speculation and no definitive info yet.

Earlier this week The Bootleg Series 10 was officially announced. This volume will cover the period 1969-1971 with the main focus on Self Portrait. It will be released August 23-27 (depending on region). The image in the post above shows the cover image of the set. More info can be found in this article on the Super Deluxe Edition site: http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/n...series-vol-10-another-self-portrait-1969-1971
The album is up for preordering at Amazon. Current prices for the 4CD deluxe edition are:
    US: US$ 105
    Canada: CA$ 115 (was CA$ 90 earlier this week)
    UK: GBP 69
Germany: € 65 (disregarding any shipping costs this is currently the cheapest option)

Actually, if you squint at the new picture he looks like Jerry Seinfeld.

Am I to understand that the 3xLP vinyl version will also contain 2 additional CDs (the remastered Self-Portrait and Isle Of Wight) or am I just reading the information in the Amazon link incorrectly?

...and why does the vinyl version come with a chintzy booklet instead of the two hardcover books? LAME!

Frankly, I wish that the vinyl version would have been a 7xLP set, with the remastered Self-Portrait and Isle Of Wight comprising the four additional LPs (and including the hardcover books that I harped on about above.)

  11. After removal of VAT, this comes to 58,52 Euros in total, incl. shipping to the U.S. (this equals approx. US$ 77).

Most likely the vinyl version has the same material on cd, not the remastered SP and IOW. But there's been little solid information.

If you read the blurb below it states 35 Songs! that to me means the 2 CD's are just the digital copy that's now given out with many vinyl issues.

Yeah, that looks solid. I'm sitting corrected.

It was speculated in the earlier thread that it was Jack Kerouac. Seemed like the best theory that I've heard so far.

Is this a new painting? It's obviously not Dylan.

The BobDylan.com article phrases it as:
Bob Dylan has created a new painting as the cover art for The Bootleg Series, Vol. 10 -
    Another Self Portrait (1969-1971

That implies it's new. It's hard to imagine Bob Dylan getting motivated to create album art these days (for an archival release, no less) but perhaps the idea of releasing a set around Self Portrait appealed to his sense of humor.

My gut feeling is that it was just one of countless existing pieces of Dylan art that was repurposed for this set. But I'm hoping my "Dylan found it funny" theory is true.

Anyone have any idea what the alternate takes from Nashville Skyline are like, have any outtakes from those sessions been booted? Curious to know if he did takes of the NS tracks in his normal singing voice.

Little disappointed that they didn't call it What This **** Is. Sony, go all-in and see if they call your bluff (bad bet, I suspect).
