I have all 3 of the Looney Tunes Blu Ray sets along with the complete Golden Age DVD collection. Really stinks that this will only have 60 cartoons. Interesting to see how many are have not been available before. I don't know if I will get this set on Blu Ray but if its' available as a HD on iTunes or wherever I will buy it for sure.

I want to see a list of the cartoons included and compare it to
the blu-rays I already have. WB is chintzy with their cartoons.

The video announcement is on Comic-Con now:

40 of the cartoons will either be new to Blu Ray or were not previously released in the proper aspect ratio.

That's because it's filled to the brim with pointless documentaries nobody will watch about what guys like the ubiquitous and boring Leonard Martin have to say about the history of the cartoons... instead of presenting the actual cartoons. o_O

Very excited about this set, but puzzled about some omissions if it's purely chronological ("Unruly Hare," "Beanstalk Bunny"). Nevertheless, lots of good stuff here. New releases on first 2 discs indicated below.

Which missing titles were you hoping for?

I think one of the main goals of this set is to allow people to finish their collection of Bugs Bunny cartoons. If what you’re looking for isn’t here, it has likely already been released on one of the Platinum (blu-ray) or Golden (DVD) sets.

Looks like some noteworthy episodes are not included- The WW2 shorts, the "duck season - rabbit season" shorts with Daffy, also, did not see any of the newer Tasmanian Devil titles. The short with Columbus, Hare We Go is also missing in the lists, just to name a few. Also, the Bugs - Wile E Coyote Super Genius shorts, like Operation Rabbit is also not there.

Basically, the two I mentioned are the main standouts to me - "Unruly Hare" (the only Frank Tashlin Bugs) and "Beanstalk Bunny." Neither ever released on disc and (as far as I can remember) don't contain any controversial elements like the other missing shorts ("A Lad In His Lamp," "Fresh Hare," "Witch is Witch," "All This/Rabbit Stew," "Nips The Nips"). I suppose they could have fudged the chronology with "Beanstalk" and it's possibly on disc 3. We'll see - obviously a must buy!

Warner's made it clear that the Golden Collection boxes didn't sell well enough to justify further releases. 2 and 3 disc sets appear to be the farthest Warner is willing to gamble on (single disc Popeye Technicolor shorts and the lone disc Tex Avery blu-ray are more examples of the sales approach Warner has taken).

All of these (apart from “Which is Witch” and “All This and Rabbit Stew”) were released on laserdisc (which is another reason why those old LDs still have some value).

(FWIW, the contents of one of the old Warner Home Video LDs is available from iTunes. It’s now called Globetrotting Looney Tunes and is still the only place you can find the Sylvester & Tweety short “Trip For Tat”.)

Beanstalk Bunny has a number of issues that network censors have removed over the years. There's snuff, gratuitous smoking ("I'll 'shmoke' you out!), Daffy's "snapped" back in the mouse trap and, for some reason, Daffy yelling, "You stupid APE!" was often snipped or muted.

In the early 80's, this one ran at about 4 minutes after the cuts-- much like "Bugs' Bonnets" which got chopped to ribbons with pc edits.
