I'm going to have to give it a listen. He did a good job as Jerry Lee Lewis in Walk the Line as well!

Here's a tease for Sierra Ferrell's new studio song being released next week. She was originally gonna have an entire album in 2020 for her debut on Rounder Records, but that's been delayed until 2021 thanks to covid.

There's been a live recording of this song on youtube for a couple of years now. I like what I can hear from this new studio version (always loved live one, too).

Country music legend O.B. McClinton (1940-1987) was the singer-songwriter who referred to himself as The Chocolate Cowboy. Also known as Obie McClinton, he attempted a career as an R&B singer, but ultimately found success in country music. Having grown up listening to the likes of Hank Williams, he originally became interested in pursuing a career as a country singer around the age of 9 or 10. McClinton wrote several songs for the great soul singer James Carr. As a country artist, McClinton also recorded for Mercury and Epic.

McClinton successfully marketed his album "The Only One" on television long before the practice was commonplace. Releasing a total of 8 albums, McClinton died prematurely in 1987, leaving behind a quality body of work in the world of classic country music which has aged very well.

Some information from the exit interviews with Clint and Lisa:

They were cast as a duo from the beginning.

They were somewhat able to operate the egg's movement and they even mentioned handbrakes.

If they had made it to the Super Six they would've left the egg for their next performance.

Their friend in the clue package was Steve Wariner.

They're considering recording some of the songs they did on the show, but in the meantime will be be releasing a new duet in a few weeks titled, "Till the End of Time."

I prefer my homemade album cover for Starting Over instead of the actual one:

No mention has been made of the death of one of the greatest singing voices in country music history, Charley Pride.

Currently listening to this two-disc set by prolific country session player and songwriter Bobby Wood. His early/mid-sixties sides are the epitome of the Nashville Sound; swooping string sections and cooing female choruses abound behind Wood singing like Vinton or Vee or Rydell or Curtola. A bit lush for me, but fans of the early countrypolitan thing will want to check him out.
