Indeed. I say industry fold (wasn't sure what else to call it) because I have 2 of these and they both have that perfect fold in the exact same place.

I didn't bother mentioning the other because it has a big tear in it.

I've made a little framed Egypt Station display which will get hung in the throne room (I haven't posted anything that is getting hung yet).

The art print is in the Egypt Station suitcase (12x12). The NYC subway pass and badge were for sale on Paul's site. Seemingly only for a couple months.

This guy has been trying to sell this for a while. IMHO, it’s overpriced at £150. He was asking even more, originally, IIRC.

It’s cool, but not much more than an unofficial novelty item. As you know, I’m prepared to put my hand in my pocket for serious rarities, but, for me, I’d struggle to justify more than £50 for one of these.

I remember back in the late 80s and early 90s that there would be a lot of Russian 'postcard' singles (similar to the X-Ray but with the grooves on small postcards). They were never particularly expensive. I think the Russian X-Ray discs came earlier. I thought they were square though and not cut into circles. It's a neat piece of history though.

The postcard records were primarily Polish in origin, not Russian. They were literally postcard-shaped, so rectangular, and dated from the 1960s through to the 1980s. The artwork would usually bear no connection to the musical content. And yes, they started to turn up in Western record shops in the late 1980s, when Poland switched from a communist state to a market economy. As you say, not expensive at the time. Like the Russian X-ray plates, they are little more than an unofficial novelty, though some collectors may rate them more highly than that.

And thus my need for a mouse pad and a superfluous late pressing of George's Thirty Three and 1/3 have met in cosmic harmony.

    Fitting.

I spotted a couple of stubs from The Stables:-

The Stables at Wavendon (just outside Milton Keynes) is a delightful venue and happens to be the last venue I attended. Founded by John Dankworth and Cleo Laine, it was literally built in their back garden. Sir George Martin was a patron.

We always hear how Apple was a disheveled mess. This just substantiates those claims.

Having said that, David's Deram/Pye work never struck me as particularly exciting. Even if I tried to put myself in the shoes of a 60s exec.

Perhaps this is one of those odd twists of fate that made the world a better place. The rejection pushed David to go for something different. And we all know how that turned out.
