has Paul McCartney ever given any interviews where he talks about how he feels about the butcher sleeve these days?

While he's in Australasia later this year I was going to try my best to get him to sign a copy, but don't want to even give it a go if he is completely against it since becoming a vegetarian all those years ago.

Odd question maybe, but if anyone would know they would be here on the forum!

Ah sure ask him anyway, I’m sure he’ll take a butcher's at it.

Never thought of that. I don't remember seeing a butcher signed by him, at least not recently, but he's very reluctant to sign any Beatles album these days. I do know that he went absolutely crazy a few years ago when he found out that MacDonalds in Kings Road, London, put portraits of The Fabs on their wall, and they removed them in a matter of days.

Edit: I have to say that I doubt he would sign it. Even a salacious 'Paul Endorses Butchery' story in some horrible rag would be unpleasant.

Making me wonder if Paul would have a problem signing this cover...

(How did they manage to make these particular vegetables and fruit look quite so unappetizing?)

ah well he did sing about "Scrambled Eggs" the origins of composing Yesterday on Jimmy Fallon years ago...what's the big deal today to not talk about this stuff, the guys all wore Leather coats and boots in Hamburg days, almost burned down the little bambi kino theatre they all stayed in.

I saw an interview where Paul was asked the exact same question. When asked what he thought of the Butcher Cover
today he simply replied "I Don't"

But we need to keep asking him in case he has a different answer the next time.

(Honestly, why would he feel anything at all about a fifty years old record cover ?)

Wait...so, Paul McCartney ISN'T on an internet message board obsessively talking about 50 year old music too?

    Hmm...

If he had a real problem with it, then presumably it wouldn't have been in the US Albums CD box that was released in 2014...

So I suppose you can rule out the suggestion that he hates it....

The Colbert interview 4-5 years ago he was asked about the 64 Beatles card where Paul listed his favorite food as "roast beef" and laughed it off.

He did approve the 2014 US covers. Note that the Harrison estate have removed cigarettes from several releases and front covers from reissues since his death, including vintage cigarette ads from the Sullivan DVD.

I think I have seen a Paul signed butcher cover from the past 20 years.
