Obviously boots. They do show up on ebay occasionally.

The Dr Ebett series also have MFSL artwork, but it's designed exactly like the MFSL releases, with the reduced album cover artwork and the black border around it. I don't remember what the cd's themselves look like but I know those don't look like MFSL discs. So these don't look like they're Dr Ebett's work.

When it comes to The Beatles, the rule of thumb is, if you've never seen, nor heard of it before, it's probably phoney.

I'm pretty sure any Beatles MFSL CD is a fake. Beatles MFSL were only on vinyl, I believe. I have the mfsl CD's of PPM WTB BFS and AHDN and they all sound excellent, especially PPM.

They may look good/real, but they are fake.

They are fakes. Bootlegs. I'm not sure who actually made them. Supposedly they are needledrops from the MFSL vinyl albums.

FWIW, bootlegs aren't allowed to be discussed on this forum. So don't be surprised if this thread gets closed.

"THE SOUND QUALITY OF THIS COMPACT DISC OFFERS THAT WARM SOUND OF ANALOG WITH THE CLARITY OF COMPACT DISCS."

No kidding, record an LP to CD and that's what you get. :agree:

Just to entertain a newbie: besides "made in Italy", what are some of the other signs these are bootlegs? I don't own hardly any MFSL's so don't know what to look for.

The fact that there were never MFSL releases of the Beatles albums on CD would be the most obvious sign.

  22. The lack of a bar code is a give-away. Burned on to CDR (instead of a pressed CD) is another.

The fact that the label printed on the disc is way off center would be another sign to look for.

    The disclaimer on the back:

"We ask that you not show this disc to your local law enforcement agency"

    is another.
