yeah, I was thinking the former. not sure why anyone needs a backup...unless they need a backup of everything.

sounds pretty good to me - of course it has the long version of Sweet Jane with the bridge.

I cant seem to find any information regarding the mastering...I am hoping it is a KG master though. Will look at it when I get home.

Several are "limited" and list the number made, here: Rocktober | Rhino

a bit of hyperbole to indicate how much i plan to spin this one. i'll want a backup for when it's worn out (as if).

So, can someone please directly compare an original UK Fly with this new reissue, in terms of the sound? Thanks.

Just spun mine and I love it, my favorite version of the album is the first japan cd cuz it sounds so analog. Never heard it on vinyl before now and I'm very pleased.
Any barnes and noble coupons around ?

Love It To Death stands out as the limited Rocktober title I would buy as an investment copy and that depends on it's audio quality. The T Rex and ZZ Top are not reported as limited and will probably be around for a good while. I find a couple of the other titles moderately interesting as investment copies, but as a whole - I shy away from investing in Rhino releases. They always show up again in a different presentation. I cannot name one Rhino title released in the last 5 years that I would consider having appreciated in value. To the contrary, I find that Discogs stays flooded with sealed Rhino releases for much less than their original suggested retail price. To a person considering vinyl investment copies, Rhino is to MFSL as a modern day Nickel-Clad quarter is to a pre-1964 silver quarter. However, limited color runs do demand more than the following black vinyl runs for about every album from any genre listed on Discogs. You are basically gambling on the colored vinyl aspect alone with very little support from that title's future scarcity. It is a rare occasion when I let vinyl color be the only reason I might buy an investment copy. An exception as of late was the Mazzy Star 'purple' vinyl release limited to 1000 pressed. I know a good many here could care less about the investing aspect of our hobby, but Kevin J asked to be enlightened. Now, on to the audio quality of Electric Warrior.

How much did amazon uk sell the 'brown' for?

Did reprise do the proper semi-gatefold?

    Sorry - off-topic

An Alice Cooper reissue limited to 6500 copies as "investment"? You think this will fetch 100+? :unhunh:

If things only were that easy:yikes:

The Brown was approx £18 and was a full replica of the Reprise original semi gatefold sleeve..It’s still available on Amazon Uk..Ignore the £34 price tag and go to other sellers..think it’s Rarewaves and Screamingcds Sellers ..it’s £21.38 inc postage

I picked up a copy of this yesterday and am very pleased. It sounds great and the pressing is absolutely flawless. Not a single crackle or pop.

Anybody got an answer on this? I would guess a US copy tape. The original must be in the UK somewhere and I'm guessing it's highly unlikely the original would be flying across the Atlantic to do a limited press run....
I have a minty original Fly so this would have to be pretty good to convince me to go for yet another copy of Electric Warrior....
