Should there be a sticky of the list of Cds/Lps recommended by Steve Hoffman?

Wish I was. I got the remaster first which was loud and bright. Tracked down the old cd thinking it would be a dull, careless transfer. Then I got to Shanty Town and was shocked that it could sound NORMAL. Couldn't understand why they didn't keep it that way for the remaster.

Yes! Bump! In looking at the discs on this list, it's nice to see that some of them (CSN&Y's So Far) are easy to obtain through my sister's collection.

  24. I just got this CD today. It is on sale at the moment at Amazon.de as part of the 3 CD's for 15 Euros sale. It's still in print, and even though the manufacturing of the CD has now moved to Poland, it carries the same great mastering.

    http://www.amazon.de/Singles-Plus-A...=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1337715425&sr=1-1

They also have some other interesting titles as part of the sale, for example:

Rory Gallagher - Live! In Europe (new 2012 remaster which is good and recommended by me):
    http://www.amazon.de/Live-Europe-Ro...R8XB7XF&s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1337715310&sr=1-1

Rory Gallagher - Wheels Within Wheels (this is the first time I have seen it for a really low price - all acoustic folk album):
    http://www.amazon.de/Rory-Wheels-Wi...R8XB7XF&s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1337715310&sr=1-3

    And around 5,000 other titles...
