Amazon has listings for a 3CD super deluxe edition as well as 2CD and 2LP versions, all set to be released December 3. But I can't find any other details at this point.

The 3 CD one is almost $100 - wow! I wonder what else could be packaged with it to cost that much. The VU+Nico had a lot more than that...

Hey Vinyl Man Another bloody Yank down under...

I wonder would "Sister Ray" fit on one side at 45 rpm?

  5. Dollars to donuts this is an error - if it was legit you'd think we would have seen an announcement by now. But one can hope!

Even full Gymnasium tape in excellent quality worth 100$.
I'm sure tracklist will be like this:

    CD1 - Stereo Mix + Some outtakes/alternate mixes?
CD 2 - Mono Mix + Singles + home demos
    CD 3 - Gymnasium tape

    Will see..

Lou probably saw what Dylan is charging for a Deluxe and wants to charge more. :)

  10. Or look at Nirvana's In Utero super deluxe reissue - 3 CDs and a DVD and a booklet for $130+!

Isn't that what the "With The Lights Out" boxed set was...(3 cds and a dvd)? I remember that sold on release day at Target for $27! How times have changed. :shake:

  12. Indeed. So, I think I'm going to have to figure out a way how to shoplift it from the local about-t0-go-under HMV. I'm sure Kurt would've wanted it that way. :)

Come on, folks! I've been waiting for WH/WL set for YEARS. I'm sure price will eventually dropped and will be even cheaper on Amazon.co.uk

I held off on the VU and Nico set and hopefully I can hold off on this one too. But the realist in me says I will end up getting both eventually.

As for package, i think it's will be the same as VU&Nico and Made In California-type boxes. Large 70-80's page book with 3 CD and lots of cool photos.

The older I get the more I realise that junk demos etc were left in the vaults for a reason. I mean, I love the V.U., but have played the Peel Slowly demos barely twice in 18 years...

Be good to see the live material out officially, but not lost inside a ridiculous super deluxe like Bowie's Nassau '76 live album was (it was a brickwalled piece of crap, but still sad that casual people can't buy seperately such a blisteringly good live Bowie album).

That would be like putting an AM radio broadcast on 45 rpm vinyl. ;)

I got the VU and Nico deluxe set 6 discs for $33 from Amazon. It was sold as like new from Amazon warehouse but it looked new to me.

I read on a thread this week the Sex Pistols have just come out on Super High Material Platinum-coated CD or something like that, so anything's possible

:) You have to forgive us in England (me) or Scotland (Johnny), this sort of stuff was and still is at ripoff prices in Britain: the VU & Nico set was (equivalent to) $130 in HMV London last time I saw it, and is currently (equivalent to) $100 used or new on amazon uk.
