This is an easy one, any film with Chevy Chase in it. :)

IMO it IS the worst movie ever made

Where the Buffalo Roam with Bill Murray was terrible.

I remember the audience bursting out with laughter during previews for "Weekend At Bernie's". The previews were funnier out of context because I didn't laugh at all when I actually saw the movie.

He didn't ruin Foul Play, probably cause it was his first film and his ego was in check.

Chevy had plenty of funny movies in the '70s and '80s. He had way more funny movies than latter SNL casts.

Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Fletch, and Funny Farm are just some of the movies with Chevy that I thought were funny. Sure, he has had some stinkers mixed in (just like Bill Murray, John Belushi, and Dan Akroyd did.)

The recent SNL alumni have been awful in movies, save for a couple funny movies. Christen Wiig has been funny in a couple. Will Ferrell has been funny in a few, but also been in some just plain silly or awful. Jason Sudeikis has been funny in a few. Adam Sandler, early on, was funny but I can't stand him anymore. Never did like David Spade movies; they are just awful. Same for Rob Schneider. I can go on and on.

I liked Jim Carrey on In Living Color but when he started doing movies, I hated him. His shtick didn't translate well to movies. Though, I do like some of his serious roles in movies.

Steve Carell is another one that has been in unfunny comedies as a leading man. Exception being The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Carell has been in some funny comedies as co-star or support when others carry the film.

for some reason, i do laugh my a$$ off at these 'serious' movies:
    - barfly
    - goodfellas
    - sling blade

    comedies i do enjoy:
    - up in smoke
    - clerks
    - spinal tap (actually most movies by this cast i dig)

    comedies im surprised i liked:
    - super troopers
    - farley/spade movies
    - borat

I like Chevy."Vacation", "Fletch" (both), "Caddyshack", "Three Amigos", "Spies Like Us", "Funny Farm".... and "Foul Play" is one of my favorite films of all time, but that's not really his doing. That said, he's certainly been involved with a hearty amount of garbage. "Nothing But Trouble" should be burned. I think "Memoirs of an Invisible Man" is hilarious but I don't think that was supposed to be a comedy, was it?

I found "Popeye" a very entertaining movie. A problem with the movie was that people were expecting the cartoon and they got the comic strip instead (where Popeye started out as a one-shot character and wasn't intended to be a long-term character).

As far as unfunny comedies, I must mention "The Last American Virgin." I barely laughed during the movie and ended up doing something I've never done before or since with any movie: I walked out before the movie was over (after enduring about 1 hour of it).

People were expected to be entertained. Instead we watched the result of all the behind the scene players partying and doing coke.

I don't think of that as a comedy, though it has some funny parts. Like "Fast Times At Ridgemont High", there are some very serious, un-funny moments, so its more drama. Unlike Fast Times (which ends on a feel good note), Last American Virgin ends with a stomach punch. I still love the movie, though.

As someone who has lived in the US and UK the Three Stooges just do not translate outside the Good ol' USA

But then again America likes Benny Hill. Go figure!
