Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

I don't really play that many Alice albums. Don't own all of his output - but based on the frequency of what I've played this last year it's:

    Billion Dollar Babies
    Welcome To My Nightmare
    School's Out.
    Love It To Death.
    From The Inside
    Killer
    Lace & Whiskey
    Goes To Hell
    School Days
    (and The Alice Cooper Show)

I do have 'Zipper' and 'Da Da' but hardly ever play them. Not an era of his I can particularly warm to.

The Last Temptation is particularly underrated, in my opinion.

Surprised no one rates School's Out 1st yet. I think it's their best songwriting by far.

"Babies" is, IMO, his most strongly-consistent album start to finish, IOW's, the LP's "average" song quality is better than any of his other albums.

But, it lacks that killer cut, that all-time classic, like a "School's Out" or an "18", much like Aerosmith's "Rocks" (about which I feel similar within their catalog) lacks a "Walk This Way" or "Dream On". And without that hook-song to pull me in, I don't find myself listening to it very much.

I haven't heard the solo Alice Cooper albums, so I will only rate the band albums.

    1. Easy Action
    2. Killer
    3. Love It To Death
    4. Billion Dollar Babies
    5. Muscle Of Love
    6. School's Out

Even though I put School's Out at #6, that doesn't mean it sucks at all.

I don't know what it is about Easy Action, but the more I listen to that album, the more I love it.

I've never heard Pretties For You, so it's unranked.

Respectfully, no killer cut? Now, are we talking single? Because it looks like that is what you are saying? Walk this Way never charted as a single and Dream On initially only charted at 59. Re released it did better though. I'm sorry but No More Mister Nice Guy, Elected, Hello, Hurray or Billion Dollar Babies are not killer cuts? Three of the four were top 35 singles. Not great, but pretty good. Well, to me, those are the strongest four on any Alice album. So, we will agree to disagree politely..........:D

Oh, absolutely agree. I was just pointing out singles that were released. I mean does Generation Landslide lyrics still hold it's own today? Sick Things, Raped and Freezin, Unfinished Sweet..........a brilliant album with some of the best goodies in the original vinyl I ever had as a kid..........:righton:

We have a disagreement of opinion about whether "Babies" has any killer cuts on it, but just FYI, "Walk This Way" did chart as a single, it reached #10 as a re-release in early 1977.

Billion Dollar Babies is Alice's only #1 album. The thing is loaded with killer cuts.
His greatest hits album features more songs from Billion Dollar Babies than any other album.
