What do you own more of Albums or CDs ??

CDs *are* albums...

 

About 2000 CDs and 500 lps.

 

If someone asks me "What are you holding?" I would automatically say a CD or if vinyl, an Album or an LP.

 

Approx. 2250 CD's and 0 albums as in vinyl records. Could never get a proper stereo, a space for it, or really get behind the sound in the long run. Though there is no doubt that records have a lot of depth in terms of bass nuances, the fact that it looks better than the CD etc. never really appealed much to me. Grew up with CD's, loved CD's as a youngster and have always wanted to have a huge collection which I now luckily have.

That said, I have owned albums in the past, at one point tallying 400. Enjoyed it... But not so much that I miss it.

 

I've been buying CDs for years now, my turntable gave up the ghost in the late 90's, and was never replaced. I've given lots of my records away over the years but still have a decent enough selection, most of which were re-purchased on CD. Still, I walked into a music store yesterday and I was looking on with envy at their selection of turntables, and with more and more underground and experimental music (my preference) getting vinyl-only releases, I haven't completely ruled out buying another unit...

 

CDs, about 2500 I believe (counting them would be way too much work). LP's would be in the 800-1000 range.

 

More vinyl but I have a lot of CDs too. Probably around 60 / 40 %.

 

If anyone wants to share pics of their collections, please do, I really love looking at well-stocked music stashes !

 

I had over 5000 LP's but sold all my analog gear a couple years ago.
With Tital there's no need to purchase music anymore as the quality is better than either format.
Still have 800 CD's but rarely listen to them.

 

I have 200+ CDs in varying genres. I don’t have any LPs, but my brother is planning on getting them for his record player. He has 1 already.

Slightly more records than anything else but, curiously, I have roughly a 3 way tie between:

Records 33%
CD's 33%
Cassettes 33%

Yes, I'm serious.

 

Almost a 1,000 LPs. And 50-60 CDs.

 

Or, as your wife says - "welcome to the Dennis Metz Memorial Garage Sale...everything in that pile is free, just get it out of here..."

Now that they are "in retro vogue" again, I might be able to stock up on a few.

I actually do have a few. But only a few.

2,188 CDs and 656 LPs. I don't need everything on LP that I have on CD--some stuff I just want to hear in the car. I have almost 10,000 mp3s but rarely even think about those...
