    I also got 41 out of 50.

Of course, the quiz is British/Liverpool-centric, so unless you've read bios extensively, you would not be expected to know many of the questions about where they played, etc. And I question why it's important to know such things anyway.

On the other side of the coin, questions about their music that should actually matter are dead-easy to all but the most casual of Beatles fans.

So all in all, it's a pretty stupid quiz.

More than anything, though: "Paul McCartney and The Wings"??? I actually answered something else just because this seemed wrong on multiple levels. (They were Wings before McCartney's name ever got appended. And "The" Wings? C'mon!)

I got 40 but one of them I knew and clicked the wrong thing by accident. So I really knew 41.

I think all of the questions I missed were about specific locations in Liverpool.

I got 45. Got some of the Liverpool venues wrong and didn’t know how many times they played on the Royal Iris. I know now.

Some of the local references threw me, and I correctly answered the question about their "first" drummer, but didn't get the point. (Johnny Hutchinson drummed for them before Pete Best, during a 1960 audition for Larry Parnes and Billy Fury.)

39/50. Lower than I expected. I don't know areas of Liverpool, hospitals they were born in or who attended which football matches. I can live with that!

I also answered Johnny Hutchinson to this question, for that same reason.

If the quizmasters wanted to frame this question in terms of The Beatles' first permanent drummer, then they shouldn't have put Hutchinson as one of the choices. That only muddied the waters.

So since I got this question "wrong" but was really correct, and since I eschewed the "Paul McCartney and The Wings" answer as being just plain wrong, I really should have scored 43 out of 50 on this quiz instead of 41 out of 50!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Bloody hell! @MikeM the quiz was English/Liverpool-centric because that's where The Beatles where born and first played. The only book I have read that deals with the band's beginnings in great detail is Lewisohn's All These Years and that was a while ago. You are correct to question the of the importance of having to know of the band's beginnings, when it it comes to popular music in all it's different genres what is important in this mad world? Well I'll answer for you, bloody everything! So shame on you for not knowing where the band were paid in pints of bitter for playing or where Ringo was born :agree:

Your assertion that it's a pretty stupid quiz is wide of the mark, I scored 49 so I'd like to think that it's a very highbrow quiz :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Seriously I am pretty 'chuffed' with my score because I still remembered what I'd read in that brick of a book. And anyone who dosen't know the name of Macca's first band after the Fab Four....c'mon :shh:

I got the Royal Iris question wrong.
