Rest In Peace Doris. Thanks for all of the enjoyment your TV show, movies and music brought to me over the years...

It could be said that the deadwood stage has finally arrived . . .

But, before her gallery of films (and her TV series), there was the music, after all . . .

Secret Love is a true masterpiece.

...Sentimental Journey and a few others mentioned as well. From all accounts a very sweet lady and animal lover. We need more of those.

A long but troubled life. But if she needed success and money it seems she had the talent to do it.

It's only a couple of years ago that she found out she was two years older than she thought she was.

Doris Day found out she is two years older than she thought on her birthday

Just a couple of megastars of the late 1940s early 195os Hollywood era left now I think (Kirk Douglas and Olivia de Havilland (she even started in the mid 1930s)).

I never 'like' an obituary post, but thank the OP for bringing it to our attention.

Was never a big movie fan, but do have one cd of her music, which I will play later today.

    RIP

I love her oh so much. Really hated to hear this. Anytime one of her movies is on I always have to stop and watch.

    I love you Doris.

RIP Doris. On a side note, it seemed that she was on the cover of Closer magazine every five issues. It was a good way to keep up with how she was.

(This was Bob Hope's affectionate-if-somewhat-risque nickname for her; you can google it.)

A copy of her mono Greatest Hits LP or the 16 Most Requested Songs single CD or the either the Golden Girl or the Essential Doris Day 2 CD set are essential. The Columbia mono Greatest Hits albums of their MOR artists are all worthwhile and also the 16 Most Requested Songs CD series of the Columbia and Epic MOR artists are worthwhile.

If you listen to only one Doris Day album in your life, make it Duets with Andre Previn.
