I bought Andrei Rublev, The Color of Pomegranates, Police Story/Police Story 2 and Vampyr and my dad bought
War and Peace. All of these were BluRay.

    I picked up:
    The In-Laws
    Princess Bride

Might order - Breakfast Club, Virgin Suicides, The Rose.

  9. I was tempted to pick that up but ended up getting a few of the Kurosawa Blu-Ray titles (Hidden Fortress, Rashomon and Throne of Blood) which finished my budget. Oh and Fiend Without A Face on DVD. And of course now that I bought that title on DVD they will inevitably announce it coming out on Blu-Ray.

Ordered on Friday, watching on Monday. I :hugs:being so close to Louisville, KY, when they use anything but Media Mail. First Class in this case.

I finally broke down and got Gimme Shelter and Monterey Pop.

  12. There's also an Arrow Video sale going on at the moment. More online than in stores, but still 50% off.

And coupons are allowed for 50% off Arrows, unlike the Criterions.

Even though I own a few, I never realized Arrows list for $40.00 ?
At first, I thought the FM listing was a mistake, but no. And $19.99 is the best price before tax, and shipping. Wow.
I'm personally passing, having spent nearly $100.00 for my DVD copy, many years ago. Yes, it's still fine, no rot, watched it again recently.

Anyway, I guess Arrow sees itself on the same level as Criterion, hence the pricing.

anyone know if the monterey pop blu ray includes the bonus stuff like Moby Grape and the Grateful Dead or was that some other special edition? That's all I really want to see.

Picked up the Blu-ray edition with all of the discounts haven’t watched it yet but the booklet mentions both bands are included in the film.
If you can get that additional 10% off as a member it’s a pretty good price

I can't get the 10% membership discount to work. Is it banned from this sale?

Worked for me in the store today. Criterion blurays ended up being 18 bucks each.

Arrow is, at minimum, on the same level as Criterion, IMO. But I rarely find the pricing for their titles in the US to be palatable. For titles that they release in both the US and the UK, you will almost always find the UK version to be the better deal, whether it's through Amazon UK or through the sales Arrow offers semi-regularly through its own site.

The caveat is that you have to pay attention to which titles are region-locked, if that's important to you. Since I've been multi-region capable for many years, I ignore the presence or absence of region coding and just look for whoever has the best deal on Arrow titles I'm interested in at the moment.
