would never expect him to cover this, so I think he may have pulled off Oh Darling.

Off topic, but The Criterion Channel solved these problems very nicely.

All 3 of those early pics are a bit different (this one is obvious).

    Very nice, actually.

It's still stream quality, but I poked around and there's plenty here.

But still, hardly not everything. Only what they call "classic".

As someone who has heard a majority of the Get Back tapes, edits are the way to go. Off the top of my head, I think the fast version of Get Back and the take of Two Of Us where they mess with accents need to be heard by the public, as well as whatever stuff was recorded on multitrack.

There are fan edits out there that patch and fix some of the songs so that they are seamless. If Apple would go to that trouble, I really doubt it. Apple...prove me wrong.

It’s basically just a long and winding thread that always leads you here.

This is in a lower key than the Beatles/Paul version...and John's *still* struggling with it.

Slightly Off Topic, but if anyone could please help:
I've read some of the articles and interviews from Giles concerning the last two deluxe boxes. Are there any interviews, print or otherwise, where he talks about the process of putting these boxes together? How long it took, when they started, etc?

I never cared for the original mix because it stuck Paul's bass in one channel, demanding too much attention. Plus, I dislike the utterly dead drum sound, no room ambience whatsoever.

I thought the Love remix was good, centering the bass, so you can choose to focus on it if you wish. The 2019 remix does that too, but with the dead-sounding drums pushed to the back, and I haven't yet formed an opinion on if that works for the better or not.

To be honest, I dont know where I stand. It's very different. It isn't the centering of the bass that is affecting me, but the definition of it. You can really hear the complexity of his part, but I find that I'm then listening to Paul exclusively.

I dunno. I'm holding back till I hear the blu ray to get into it more.

I was kinda hoping the remix would give more life to Ringo's drum track. The bass drum and snare pattern is far too simplistic and could have used some augmentation such as a slight cymbal tapping. Probably the only song where I am critical of Ringo's drumming but it may not have been his decision to play that simplistic of a beat.

I have a feeling I might end up inserting the Love versions of "Something" and "Here Comes The Sun" into the 2019 mix of Abbey Road.

I've suspected for some time that I might end up doing this! When making the edits, I'm not sure whether to begin "Something" with the drum roll from the original, or just fade into the "Love" version.

I agree with you both. The original mix is gentle, but also deaf sounding and gives the bass a prominence George didn’t want. The new mix is tacky, adding effects where effects didn’t need to be.

    Did George tell you this?

Also, no effects were added to the 2019 mix. Everything there was on the tapes. What “effects” are tacky to you and don’t belong?

Whatever they did to the hi hat in the middle eight, and splitting George’s double tracked vocals on certain lines for no reason whatsoever

Olivia is probably seen by some to be one of the reasons why "Carnival Of Light" is yet to be released - upholding George's veto of the "song" from the Anthology series.
